By the end of the month, the most populair version is actually Firefox 3.0.x (IF Mozilla doesn't release 3.5), IE7 has a smaller market share, so does IE6 or IE8. It would actually have been really interresting to be able to compare 3.5 and 3.0 in the same test.
It depends, it depends on the size and boundary we are talking about, if it all fits in level 1 cache or level 2 cache it would definitely be faster in comparison to going back to memory.
The only place i use AV is on my email server, not because i'm especially concerned about the actual malware itself, but because malware detection works as another method to remove some unwanted junk mail.
I even use clamav to find spam: sanesecurity ClamAV signatures. It works really well. Their is even a Debian-package for updating those signatures in test or experimental.
"Does this situation indicate that the market is no longer receptive to proprietary standards (at least in areas such as the web, where open standards are the norm)?" I definitly think so and a lot of other webdevelopers certainly think so too.
From Wikipedia: "In Windows 7 [betas] the Silverlight webbrowser plugin is not installed automatically but is an optionally downloadable update through Windows update." Not sure about the release version. But then again flash isn't installed either, but visiting the first website (in this case MSN, default homepage) will show a: download/install flash plugin thing.
I did see someone mention, they will probably release digital camera's with watermark recognition, so recording from analog to digital isn't possible that way either.
I guess it's still available, here:

What would have been really usefull is to have had Firefox 3.0.x in the test as wel, so it would be easy to compare.
I'm sorry, but on slashdot you are supposed to use car analogies. Please try again. ;-)
It's a good explanation though.
It can't be that bad, it's a RC after all.
It's 3.0, 3.5 has a new icon.
Euh, there is not even one shipping version of Windows 7 yet.
Remember, their is no Windows 7 for ARM.
vlc has options to change the way output is handled, try them, maybe you can find out more about what the problem is.

OK, I now know what you mean, you want WYSIWYG for animation stuff.
And now ActionScript isn't the original ActionScript anymore.

editor embedded in the browser ?L You mean Mozilla Bespin project ?:
http://labs.mozilla.com/2009/02/introducing-bespin/
http://www.vimeo.com/4183124
What does it do that is so special ? Because I think their are enough plugins that do similair things (video playback and/or animation, whatever).
I'm not sure, but I think that's called bundeling or tying and the EU might not like it (not that MS ever cared).
What about 720p while connected to a TV ?:

A beagleboard already does 720p, it uses dedicated hardware for it, if I'm not mistaken.
That atleast would be _very_ close to a 100%
I've seen the same thing happen with Televantage
I hear he's in the details, so look closely

I life in the Netherlands, downloading isn't illegal here, just uploading. ;-)
