Blind A/B tests say you are wrong. You can continue to enjoy your lack of HD space, over sized files, and imaginary perceived quality.

Blind A/B tests say that the majority of people cannot tell the difference for the majority of music. That does not mean that no one can. Audio quality is extremely subjective and removing data through a lossy process can make the audio sound "better" to some people.

    Sorry, that is just wrong

One of the main reasons I don't buy music online is that there is almost no way to get it (legally) in lossless format. Other than physical CDs, that is.

MP3 can go die in a fire. Not worth my money.

Of course, the "election promise" wasn't actually mandatory. It required ISPs to offer a "clean feed" to their customers. The ACL are a bunch of moralizing extremists and shouldn't be given any more notice than the guys who believe George Bush is a space alien.

Yeah, that makes no sense at all.

It also makes "no sense at all" that Windows is the still dominant PC OS. Complaining about it isn't going to change anything.

Unfortunately, Flash is currently pretty much the platform of choice for web video and I don't see that changing too soon, at least until HTML5 is a proper standard, supported by everything including IE

It works great out of the box, but as soon as you want to do much tweaking aside from desktop backgrounds and install some additional software, you will run into headaches. "I can't install X without Y and Z dependencies?" And then it's off to google to find out how to get them...in a way that works with the current version of said dependency on your distro...

Seriously. Have you even used a linux distribution in the last 4 years?

For the most part, as long as you don't go outside your distribution's software repositories, you will run into very few (if any) problems. It's only when you try to install software you donwloaded from some random site that you will have problems

Why can't Naruto just say "Shadow Clone"? In Japanese, things sound nice and short, but it turns out to sound way too stretched out in English.

The main reason is that "Shadow Clone" has fewer syllables than "Kage Bunshin no Jutsu" and that doesn't fit with the lipsync, hence the overly long translation.

I completely agree. My experience with fansubs is that the quality and attention to detail is, on average, much higher than in official releases. Not to mention the translators' notes that address cultural differences that are completely absent from the official releases

The first step to fixing the US releases is killing 4Kids with fire.

The prices in Australia for anime DVDs ranges from high to extreme. I mean, 129.95AUD for a 23-episode series borders on insane
