More innocent people died in Iraq than in all mass shootings in the US ever. If you're really worried about deranged killers, let's focus on the ones in the Oval Office.
There is tons of research out there, and no one has been able to distinguish LAME -V0 from PCM in blind studies. You're the one who is claiming it's possible. Produce the data.
How did you set up your ABX, what was your success rate at distinguishing lossless from lossy, and what statistical test did you use to demonstrate that your success rate was significantly better than chance?
It's a Capcom platformer. The original was basically Mega Man with Duck Tales skins. That rules. Capcom has done pretty well with its retro-modern Mega Man games, so I expect this to be good as well.
If you're looking for another decent NES platformer along these lines, I recommend Chip & Dales' Rescue Rangers. Two player is quite fun!
After I installed it, I found that a lot of the MP3s I have were actually not sounding as good as some others and the flac albums I have
Did you ABX? Were you able to distinguish lossy from lossless at a rate greater than chance? What was the p value you used to determine statistical signifcance?
If you didn't do a properly blind test, and you didn't do the appropriate statistics, then your observations are meaningless.
Show me the data. Produce a properly blinded ABX test of LAME -V0 vs PCM audio where the subject was able to identify lossy audio at a rate that is significantly (p>0.05) different from chance.
Lossy codecs do have artifacts. But that doesn't mean those artifacts are perceptible. The only way to know is to do a blind test.
So? Regulate Bitpay. Bitpay doesn't know how I got my bitcoins, so regulating bitpay can't possibly stop money laundering with bitcoins. They can either prohibit selling bitcoins or allow it, but I don't see how they can "regulate" it.
That's way too fast for Police Quest 2. Hell, that's probably too fast for Wing Commander. But not fast enough for DOOM, at least for someone who is used to smooth frame rates on modern FPS. I find DOOM barely playable on my 486dx2/66 with 256k cache. Gets around 25fps.
There's still a market for a Free software-only games portal, I suppose.
It's called apt-get.
Video games have just made kids a hell of a lot better at it.

Your statement is like someone in 1900 saying that soon everyone will need to build a car for themselves.
Or like someone in 1450 predicting that nearly all jobs of the future will require literacy.
You've never been through DARE then.
Anarchists?
What did you expect, coherent reasoning from people engaged in moral panic?
Nope, I'm using a VLB Diamond Stealth 64 DRAM T. I'm just spoiled by getting 60FPS on my modern machine.

As I said the setup is highly subjective
In other words, it's not real.
Trickle down economics is a conservative scheme. Obama is a conservative.

This might actually get me to buy a current generation console.
The physics of human hearing is extremely clear
Then it should be easy to experimentally verify your predictions. Produce an ABX, and you'll have a point. Show me the data, and I'll change my mind.
Tetrachromats can pass blind tests. Audiophiles cannot. That's the difference.

France doesn't seem to understand that censorship is itself a hateful form of expression.

Petroleum isn't economically viable over the long term either.
There is always loss.
That loss is both theoretically and empirically beyond human perception.
Oh, I forgot the other thing a dutch oven is good for. Frying. Can't do that in a slow cooker. Though you can do that in a wok.
Yes, I'd agree with that. The ICC should try all of them.
