We're fixing that right now also adding an explanation of the popular vote totals.

  2. Very simple election results page on Monitoring the U.S. Elections Online? · · Score: 1

For a low bandwidth election results page I have created at this reader's request the following:

    Very Simple Returns Page http://www.casperstartribune.net/tmp/

This covers only the Presidential race with both electoral and nationwide popular vote. We will be posting the results from returns collected by the AP and Reuters as well as the Lee News Service which covers several battleground states.

The Casper Star-Tribune http://www.casperstartribune.net/ also has a link to AP election results in realtime meaning you can read the results of the election at the same time that CNN, FOX, etc do. With the demise of the Voter News Service after the 2000 election the AP is they sole collector of nationwide results.

I hope this is a help.

So are the laws that we passed in the 1960's forcing, under penalty of law, the equal treatment of minorities, involuntary servitude?

Should the businesses in the south, or anywhere else, be permitted not to serve african american if they wish not to? How about not seling them a house or renting them an appartment? How about making them sit in the back of the bus? Should we permit this becuase to force them to do otherwise is a form of "involuntary servitude"?

This comment is so stupid it almost does not merit a reply. If you follow the poster's logic here no civil right law would ever be valid! The ADA is a civil rights law, just like the ones passed to enforce equal access to african americans or other minorities. Do you have a right not to serve a black, asian or others if you run a business? No of course not and if you do refuse service to them what happens to you? I'll tell you waht happens you find yourself in court, that's what.

The simple facts of the matter is that Southwest is finding itself in this action for want of a few alt tags. Gee if Southwest will pay me I'll fix their site. I assure you I'm cheaper than lawyers!

OK here is a somewhat useful application. Using the code found in the posts below I have an independent version of the :CRQ software working using the edBarcode database of companies and products. It's sort of gives you the fuctionality of the :CRQ software without the privacy concerns. It should also work with Linux as well.

The URL is at http://www.new-sharon.me.us/upc.html you can read my source there as well.

Remeber that if you are using this on a windows computer you will need to turn off your :CRQ software first.

  6. Linux in Schools on Linux & Education - How To Get It For Your School · · Score: 1

I work with an independent secondary school where we have mostly boarding students. As a result we need to handle not only the school's computer network but also the networked computers in the dorms as well.

We have MacOS,WindowsNT/95/98/2000,and Linux computers most of the servers are LINUX and our Advanced Placement CS classes are all done on Linux. We are fortunate in having very good alumni support of the school and it's programs. We have developed a program where alumni who own businesses give us their old computers which we then install Linux on and roll out onto the compus. We have found that we can get a good suply of used computers every year this way and Linux runs fine on them.

We have all of our buildings wired and have these computers in public areas for anyone to use. We have used Corel (good for putting Linux onto a Windows network and it comes with WordPerfet) and a small distro known as PeanutLinux for these general use boxes if something goes wrong we just wipe them clean and start over.

Keep at it. You can bring them around. I did not have the troubles introducing Linux that some have discribed here guess that what come from working in private an not public education.
