If you just had the mirrors instead direct the solar energy down to a solar plant on the Earth's surface, there would be no need for anything beyond some gyro's for aiming.
Maybe John Mankins is looking for a job in the solar power satellite industry, and so is seeding the internet with his chops to better get hired by one of the high powered companies in this industry?
He could also be marketing his company for a buyout and is trying to leave a way for the offers to be sent to him.
The problem is you need to be able to say OK to multiple different certs per domain due to load/site balancers.
Actually, no you don't. In a situation like that, you should be using a SAN (Subject Alternative Name) certificate with all the names you intend to use, or just the single name (like https://www.google.com/ you want the load balancer to answer. You also could use self signed behind the balancer, or no ssl at all, depending on settings.
Since you know everything about them, perhaps you should start linking to ANY evidence of collection against US citizens. I have heard lots of wild speculation from the Snowden leaks, but none of it has pointed to actual illegal collection.
So in other words, you know nothing about the subject, but are going to try to blast Google for your lack of knowledge?
You and I both know nothing about this software, trying to claim there is a way to make it redundant is disingenuous. It is also possible that the problem wouldn't have been prevented by being in any way redundant, as the software continued to respond, it wasn't a redundancy issue, it was likely a database or data issue, which no amount of redundancy would solve. Your suggestion to not have the software is also pretty silly, this software facilitates the removal of people who no longer pay for the service. Your suggestion would make it so anyone could steal service from Google, yeah, that is a great solution.
Last time we had a power outage, I grabbed a 12 pack of beer out of the fridge and started sharing with the neighbors while we waited for it to return.
The outage sprung from a failure of a computer server designed to authenticate customer equipment, what the company describes as a security feature. When the server’s authentication process was interrupted, the company said, it began denying legitimate customers access to the network.
What makes you think that there is any way to run this server in a redundant manner? Google might have nothing to do with the design or implementation of this server, and it sounds like it was an unusual outage as well because the server didn't just plain not respond, it actively responded that the user wasn't authorized.
As a Systems Engineer, I laugh at your jealousy. If you think that my job is so easy to do, then apply for it and show me how it is done. I have 15 years in the industry working with Unix, Linux, Windows server and desktop lines, including Exchange. I now design very large email systems and keep them secure. If you think people doing my job are so inexperienced and useless, come do the job instead. I am sure you will qualify for the job with your immense experience.
Considering we are talking about US universities here, I don't think the UK's sexist law has much to say about it.
How is it not rape if the woman does it against the mans will? According to the law you quote, since a woman doesn't have a penis, she cannot rape. How does that work out when there is an actual rape of a man by a woman?
The Israelis were there before the Palestinian Arabs took the land from them. It is Israel now according to international agreement, fighting it now is frankly racism. The Palestinians were offered citizenship in Israel and turned it down, as their goal is the destruction of Israel, not peaceful coexistence.
It is self defense when you bomb a weapons emplacement after calling the residents in the area to warn them of impending attack. You consider launching inaccurate rockets at civilians resistance? It is only ineffective because of the money the US is dumping into the Iron Dome system, I assure you, those missiles aren't cheap. The rockets are also akin to a war crime as they are an indiscriminate attack on a civilian target, but I guess you don't care about that as you fire rockets from schools and hospitals to increase the deaths of Palestinians.
Weapons do nothing of the sort. A gun sitting on a table doesn't suddenly go off killing everyone in the room. Just as swords don't dismember, guns don't kill. There has to be a person in the situation doing the action, or the "weapon" is just an inert piece of metal.
Not working directly in a data center, what the hell is 2N or 3N?
I am wondering how the hell a datacenter like this could possibly not have redundant power to allow for one of the power sources to go down for maintenance.
What I find sad is that shutting down one of the power sources would cause downtime, who designs a data center with a single power network?
There are power line load balancers for hardware that doesn't allow multiple power input, but most equipment allows for multiple power sources to decrease downtime. Why would this guy need to work on a live circuit?
Heck, why not just 3D print your friend a copy. If you just give them a copy to use, no concern if they ever return it ;)

Who would you recommend instead? Thawt? GoDaddy? Is there anyone that can be trusted in this industry anymore?

Well, my MCSE does say NT on it, but that is only because it never expires and I never needed to renew it for any job.

On the title bar, where is says vice.com I agree, it is a little confusing.

Assuming AC is from the US is a little bit much. I think the AC was calling the US a third world country instead.

If we are overpaid Janitors, why don't you do the job for the massive increase in pay?
It seems perhaps that there is more to the job, but since it is so easy, there should be no problem with you doing the job for the money.

The military is one of the few constitutionally mandated missions of the central government. Welfare is not. Do you see the difference?
The rest of the issues you talk of are not federal issues, but local ones.
LOL!

For this phone, No. I don't know that it is even accessible to someone who knows what they are doing.
To answer the AC above me, the phone has support for up to 2 TB SD card.
Yeah, but no one wants a processor so slow that it takes a week to load Angry Birds.
What?
The option is for 32 or 64 as that is what the manufacturer offers. It is a damn site better than the 8 or 16 of most phones on the shelves.
Oh, and it also supports a 2 TB (!!) SD card.
Wasn't the point of old Nokias that they exploded on the slightest impact? It was kind of like reactive armor on tanks...
Your jealousy is showing. You might want to get that looked at, preferably by a mental health professional.
