    That aside, Mr. Stallman is opposed to all mobile phones based on the fact their location can be triangulated.

    As opposed to? All phones can have their position located. Land lines are far easier to locate than a GSM phone.

    It is considered confidential and PII, and should be controlled in that manner. I agree fully that they screwed up, but unfortunately, the gov organization in charge of information security (NSA - communcations, DISA - computers) isn't allowed to tell them to get their act together.

    As far as I know, the NSA isn't involved too much in the investigation. I do expect heads will roll over this though, it is just a matter of getting to the bottom of it.

    Sure, you have the right to bear arms, it is getting them off the bear that is usually the issue.

    I am against most forms of gun control. The gun control we currently have is generally suitable for purpose, though according to the constitution, "congress shall make no law" is pretty clear.

    Having sensible restrictions (no felons, no serious mental illnesses) makes sense, also, requiring a safety course before the first purchase, and maybe every 5 years makes good sense. Beyond that, it is a constitutional issue, congress is legally not allowed to make ANY laws restricting gun ownership, so the Dems should be happy with what they have and that we don't take that away.

    It was up, the drone was overhead. Does it particularly matter what the angle was? Shot isn't particularly aerodynamic and slows quite rapidly as well as spreading out. The amount of damage it can do to anything on the ground is minuscule or people wouldn't be hunting birds all over the country.

    Considering for years advertising has been tanking, it must be me that is causing it according to you, but I don't know anything.

    Six foot privacy fence? There is an expectation of privacy on your own property when you make the effort to have a private property. The spy satellite is nowhere near the same thing as a drone that is hovering above your yard with a video camera.

    I am not in any way saying that CPS is right in this case, I am saying that I wouldn't let a 6 year old under my care do the same, as I don't believe a 6 year old can be mature enough. I don't make decisions for this case, and don't believe the state should be making any decisions in this case as it isn't their business unless there is a true case of neglect.

    Have I said anything to this child's parents or the state about my opinions? I didn't tell you or them how to raise your kids, I talked about my personal opinion of the incident, which was meant as an aside to the statement of

    The parents are mostly winning after two times having their kids taken away.

    The parents are winning their case against the police and CPS, what more do you want? I am saying I don't agree with the way they are raising their kids, but I'm not the one calling the police on a young child walking the streets without supervision (hint, I live at least an hour from where this is all going down, not next door).

    I can't find any statistics to back it, but it would be my assumption that girls are more likely to be abducted than boys. Searching for "kidnapping statistics by sex" picks up a confluence of kidnapping and sex offenders lists, not the sex of the victim. This could be a failing in my choice of terms though.

    I don't agree with the murder of unborn children either.

    A 6 year old girl isn't really terribly safe and would not be able to fight off a kidnapper, that is all I was saying. I am not trying to claim that it is always true that letting her wander the neighborhood on her own is bad. I think that a mile or so hike from the park may be a bit much for a kid of her age though as well.

    Even if the shot hits a person, it will not do damage. getting hit with shotgun pellets is like being hit with hail of equivalent size. Terminal velocity and wind resistance is a bitch to your preconceived notions.

    Shotgun. It can't hurt you unless pointed at you. The shot falls at terminal velocity, much like hail. It is not moving fast enough to hurt you.

    Wow, that was HARD, so hard to look up the evidence and read all about it. The guy is slime, Zoe wasn't even the first time he had a conflict of interest. But all you care about is poor Zoe being dragged through the mud for something she DID do. This took me a single Google search, I had more issues with my company's proxy blocking me from reading the Kotoku article than actually searching and finding this content. Are you ready to take your blinders off yet?

    Oh and before you try denigrating the source, all the references are at the bottom like any good Wiki. However it is entirely possible that the subjects have since deleted things from their histories to try and cover it all up.

    I am calling out the male journalist, not the female developer. What she did may or may not be ethical, but I know what he did is unethical. It could also be considered rape, as he had a position of power over her, though that is unlikely to be prosecuted.
