The other manufacturers license the patents in question (HTC) or were part of the development of the technology, and have cooperative cross licensing (Moto)
Apple decided that they should be part of the RAND terms, when they didn't have anything to do with the development of GSM/4G/EVDO/whatever else. RAND was an agreement between the stakeholders and developers of these techs that they wouldn't sue each other, unless first sued by that other, which Apple did...
That is the main thing here, the RAND patent "licensing" is mainly for those who developed the cell network technologies, Apple did none of this and wants protection under the same terms, even after they refused to license the patents (like everyone else who wasn't involved). Also, what makes you think that Apple truly developed anything? They brought together several technologies that were new and put them together. Do I develop something new when I build a Lego set into something new? Is it innovation, or just taking the next logical step?
How many Watts of electricity is thrown away when you charge a battery, then discharge a battery? Battery charging is rather inefficient. Compressing isn't a big deal if you actually look at the link, they use Hydrides to store the hydrogen, that is in the article linked. Water vapor? who cares, it means it will rain a little bit more to balance out the input. The claimed range these guys get is 365 miles from four Hydrogen tanks that fit in the trunk of a Vette, so it takes up about the same space as a 15 gallon tank. When you use wind or solar to produce the Hydrogen, it only costs the entry fee.
Naa, the profit margin on components is pretty dang good. But this is like saying Apple will stop selling the Mac Pro (notice there is no book there) because the iPad is outselling it, and as far as I can see, Apple would never do that, as it is their original market's only choice for video editing and audio stuff.
This is why, even with the losses, using hydrogen for the battery makes so much more sense.
United Nuclear even came up with a good storage mechanism: http://www.switch2hydrogen.com/h2.htm They run a (pretty) standard gas engine solely on the hydrogen for 100 miles+ and produce the hydrogen with electrolysis consistently at home, from whatever power source you hook into it.
They repeated the test some 2000 times. Personally though, if possible, I would have changed direction and seen if that changed the magnitude of the difference
Had to reply again, holy shit that site is hilarious

Perhaps we should rename all speed cameras (and red light cameras) as a tax enforcement device. It would be much harder to hide from the public that all a speed camera is is income for the state. It surely doesn't make the roads safer.
Perhaps you got modded troll because you live under a bridge and post trollish comments?
Windows is exactly as secure as Mac at this point, they have the same security mechanisms. UAC == OS X's privilege escalation. They even give the same information nowadays.
How many people download malware/trojans because the ad told them that their "virus scanner" that they have never actually installed, has found a virus and must be installed to scan?
You would be surprised...I work in a tech company, most people are rather knowledgeable, and we still get hit by this one about once a month...
The lack of communication with the control server I got the impression had more to do with the command server not accepting connections. I doubt it is a failing of the software, as they did note that it tried to connect, which means it got past the firewall on the Mac and out on the network.
When the OS offers to save a password it asks you. The login keychain, which is the default location for most passwords is opened at logon, and available to be read pretty readily.
But, does Mail? Entourage (now Outlook)? How about messaging software that allows file transfer? I know Firefox does, and I believe Chrome does, but not every software does this.
Wow, that is hilarious. So you are saying that Macs are more usable than Windows? For what? I can do everything on a Windows machine that you can do on Mac, plus much more. Therefore by definition, Windows is more usable. Just because you don't know how to use the command line in Windows does not mean it is less usable.
And definitely don't run an antivirus to hog the system - which has to be *disabled* on Win7 and that's a bit annoying.
Huh? I have seen warnings like this from some installers, but I have never had to disable my antivirus. Also, don't get McAfee or Norton, and you don't get a system hog, Trend Micro is actually quite good (#3) and doesn't bog your system down.

How much do solar panels or wind power cost in power output. If you read the page, they recommend that you run it off renewable power.

I'll patent the launch loop. It will make me a millionaire.
If I could, I would.

I enjoy looking at her too. You mean that isn't reason enough to hire someone?
When you see her, tell her to give me a call, I miss talking to Athena.

He outed himself by accident, so quit the account. Personally, if I were him, I would have acted like I was parodying Bob, and continued on.

win-admin friends
SBS 2007
Your friend for one isn't a Windows Admin, he is someone who uses Small Business Server, rather than setting things up himself.
He sounds like a part time admin, not a actual Windows administrator.
