Yes, very true, any kind of speaking out against any of this would label me a biggot. I think people have forgotten long ago what racism and biggotry really is, as well as becoming so thin skinned. Possibly because most of the people in the work force right now don't remember when there was true legal racism in the south, me included (29 yrs old now)
I think the *AA really believe that they are losing money to pirates, millions of dollars per pirated movie. They don't realize that they are losing money to the lack of actually good content being put out. What ever happened to the day when you would go to the theater and have to choose which movie to go to because many of them looked like they would be good to watch?
They also seem to have forgotten the rights of "consumers" to consume their content any way they please. I would like to be able to copy movies to my laptop hard drive, or the SSD I have stuck in the ExpressCard slot so that I can watch them on flights, or let the kids watch them on car rides, but that option was taken away long ago to protect their rights to not have people see the movies for the crap they are before deciding whether to buy the movie, or pay to watch it in the theater.
I have been recently heartened by some things I have seen recently with movies; you can now buy movies with the rights to download them to your computer. Unfortunately, even this is encumbered by massive DRM. I am not allowed to move the movies between computers in my home, I am not allowed to back up the movie in any way, and when I rebuild my computer, the movie is gone. I guess when they claim you are renting the movie when you pay 20$, they really mean it.
What ever happened to the cheap movies and music we were told would come about when we moved off of magnetic media (cassette and VHS)?
brainboyz said essentially the same thing I did, I was unaware there were any cases of hate crimes where the victim was white. Good to know that it isn't only minorities that can have hate crime directed at them.
If only I had mod points, this is a good response to hate speech being repealed. I wonder how long before the hate laws in the US are shot down. As a white male, I am crucified under the hate laws if I ever even get into a car accident with a black person, and that is wrong...
The are holding him for the horrible crime of sticking to the letter of the law WRT the rules about passwords. The people in power don't like being made fools of, and don't even realize that they brought it on themselves with very specific rules governing the release of passwords. He gave the password to the Mayor as that was the only person he was allowed to give them to according to the rules, and because he refused to give the passwords to his manager and random other people over a speakerphone, they feel he was trying to hold the network hostage.
So, it is being an asshole to follow written password procedures and not divulge your password to people whom you do not know to be authorized to have the password?
I would rather the jail time for following written policy then the civil suit when those people destroy the network and you are held accountable because you gave them the password.
You furl a sail precisely due to this. If you don't furl the sail, the wind will tear the sail and possibly the mast from the ship. Unless you meant to say reffing a sail, which wouldn't be advisable in the type of winds in this case.
As I recall, the benefit and patent of TiVo was that they have a recommendation system based upon the user's likes and dislikes. This is much like the Netflix of TV, they recommend different shows you like based on shows that you have watched or rated.
Is it possible this is actually a valid claim on the patent that TiVo holds? If the AT&T and Verizon recorders are making recommendations of what to watch, then this very well would infringe on the patent. When TiVo came out, this was a relatively new idea, and not many did it. Before TiVo, there weren't even many TV recording set top boxes.
As I have no mod points, can't mod this up, but this is very funny.

What happened to all my pretty formatting? I guess I have to learn how to post in HTML...

And Terry would have been liable, as it was in the employment rules that he was not to give the password to exactly the people who asked.

If the blimp is big enough and constructed with multiple chambers, it is actually possible for it to survive a missile strike, but YMMV.
