When you college dimwits quit slashdot and get jobs in this evil "proprietary" world, you are gonna piss your pants when you discover that its nothing more than shit like the RIAA.
If anyone here is a politically minded and educated college student, they would have realized this already. Take one look at Enron, the Bush family, and the fraudulent, conspiratorial allegations against ex-President Clinton (the Paula Jones incident never happened, it was a perjury trap), it's hard to remain 'comfortable' in this slimy money oriented black market for power. So rather than be cynical and say 'get used to it', let's be novel and try to evolve ideas and fix the problems!
Does this web radio legislation hold any weight for independents? If not, just boycott major label artists and play things on independent labels. There are thousands of amazing bands out there just waiting for an audience larger than 5000 (such as Godspeed You Black Emperor!, Squarepusher, Cannibal Ox, and Tortoise). Give them a listen and, at the same time, give the RIAA the finger.
I'm still waiting for the miniseries inspired by my 2 all-time favorites, tetris and lemmings...:)
Well, the problem with this is if the director accidently forgot to save that digger lemming towards the end, and his whole cast would end up stuck walking back and forth infinitely in a dirt pit. Thus, the miniseries would NEVER END!
P.S. Speaking of lemmings, geekiness, and TV, does anyone rememember a 1985 Superbowl TV ad by Apple showing a bunch of IBM/clone execs walking off a cliff blindfolded? No? Death to you all under the age of 17!
... when you can watch other people play video games, or watch TV about video games, or maybe even pop open that closet of yours, reinstall Myst, and click through a bunch of stills again.
If the used copy of Atlas Shrugged I just bought is caked with blood and urine, does that mean Ayn Rand gets a percentage? No? Blast!
I just patented karma whoring! Let the lawsuits for karma profit sharing begin!
Now the feeling that Bill Gates is choking me to death can be experienced in the ever more uncomfortable word of 3d!
Who ever said extortion couldn't be fun?

I guess I'm just too much of an idealist.

I'd rather play Zork again.
Goonies 2 was a great video game (a classic even) for the NES that was loosely based on a sequel that was never filmed.
This concept should be attempted more often.
