Am i the only thinking that its far easier, from a technological point of view, to survive on a devastated earth (from an asteroid impact, a global nuclear war, or something else just as bad..) than to survive in the empty voids of space?
Besides, if life is so important as the articles states, I don't think we should worry that much.. Evolution will propably make sure, that some kind of life survives on earth, and she will engineer all the marvels from the begginning once again..
But all I see instead is keyboards with annoying power buttons I tend to press in the least inconvenient moment. I just don't get it, what's the point of having it there? As if I needed to turn the computer on and off every 5 minutes.
Those keys can be usefull if it is annoying to reach the case of the pc...
Say if your pc case is on the floor.
I know, in this case it's annoying to insert/eject cds and floppies too...
This percentage represents how much of the functionality of all the "linux for the desktop" projects is already coded.
Think about it.Think about how many project there are and how many times those will be forked before they are considered finished.
When linux is ready for the desktop it will be 100/0.24 more functional/stable/secure than windows.
And that's why it will take 100/0.24 more time...
As the functionality increases so will this percentile.

It would fit nice next to that old gweather applet..
