Stay away from PoliSci majors....but Law students are fine?

A great percentage of Law students were PoliSci undergrads. It's also my major, and I'm perfectly normal(depending who you ask). I have found that PoliSci girls have a better grasp of what is happening in the world, why it is happening, and are fun to talk to in general. Having said that, I've known girls from all majors that are really interesting and girls from all majors that are vapid bitches.

Anyway, don't discriminate based on major. I know it's an easy ice-breaker to say "hey, what's your major?", but try something a little more creative and you'll probably find it works better.

I have no idea where you got (made up) those tax numbers, but you don't pay anywhere NEAR 80%.

The federal tax brackets are as follows.

    Taxable Income: Marginal Tax Rate:

    $0 - $30,754 16%

    $30,755 - $61,509 22%

    $61,510 - $100,000 26%

    $100,000 and over 29%

Provincial rates tend to be 1/2 of Federal rates. So if you made $100k you can expect to pay between 40 and 45%.

Also you don't pay the federal rate of 29% on ALL of the $100k, only on the money you make above that. From $61510 up to 100k you pay the 26% and so on.

  11. This is why open source rules on SIIA complains schools don't buy enough software · · Score: 2

Schools have no money to spend. I was given 50,000(canadian) to spend on my dads school. After 25 iMacs and a couple of G3's, there is no money. Even with the discounts, we are short about 10,000. If companies got into their little heads that free software(or close to free) is the way to go. How are we supposed to teach kids on the magical new computers if they have no soaftware?
