Seth,
This may be a bit off topic but I just wanted to take the time to thank you and all of the other Nautilus developers for all of the time and effort you've put into the project. You've worked hard and it shows. It's unfortunate that you won't hear the praise you deserve on here on Slashdot, but please try to keep in mind there are many Linux users like myself who want to see the platform move forward and like the work that has been done. But since we have day jobs and cannot sit on our asses all day to complain and find faults with other's work, we cannot submit posts to tell you this.

No kidding! You have to ask why they didn't register the domain early on to prevent something like this.
FYI, for those too lazy to check it out themselves, the URL points to KDE!
The irony is killing me. PenguinX, I suggest you conjure up every bit of courage you have and apologize profusely for what you said about Miguel. You obviously have no idea how much he has done for you and for the free software community.
Title says it all. A story like that posted on/. should get VA hopping pretty quick! Hopefully this won't taint the use of Linux at your workplace, but you never can tell these days...
It'll only take a few years for you to develop the full Unix gut, trust me.
No kidding. I just started a Unix sysadmin job and after one month I found a little pot belly forming around my skinny body. I've since stop snacking with the other admins in my group (they've got full Unix guts) and started drinking water anytime they want to take a break. The weight is staying off and I don't plan on putting it on anytime soon.
As for the comment on facial hair, when I interviewed for this job the first thing the interviewers pointed out was my goatee. "He's got facial hair, he passes the first test for new admins!"

Not to belabor the obvious, but its a tough sled to run a business around software that is otherwise free.
I agree. It seems to me the only person really making any money off of open source software is Tim O'Reilly.
I think it's pretty obvious why Intel has kept the 66MHz bus--profit! The cost difference between manufacturing a Celeron die and a P3 die is minimal, but by intentionally crippling the performance of the Celeron they can force customers to buy the more costly (and thus more profitable) P3s. It's common knowledge that the first Celeron designs were rushed-to-market-stripped-down-Pentiums, but these pseudo Celeron 2 designs and target markets seem to be well planned.
AMD has really broken down the fat margins Intel is used to getting for high performance chips, so a move by Intel to try and regain their prior business model isn't overly surprising. Now, whether that model is valid anymore is another can of worms...

I fully agree. The show has far exceeded its value (kinda like Slashdot). Time to let it die.
