  1. Thanks SourceForge on XFree86 Enters Wondrous World Of CVS · · Score: 2

I would just like to extend a BIG thanks to VA Linux for setting up SourceForge. I know that I've used it for projects and a lot of open source projects are using it to gain access to a CVS tree.

Yeah...hey Microsoft! Let me upload all of my Quicken data to you also. While I'm at it, I might as well send you a copy of my tax data and all of the PIN numbers. I'm sure nothing bad can happen then...

Internet and digital copyright law is really a growing field. Everything you do is for the establishment of new views on digital copyright. It almost makes me want to go back to school...

Why hold an auction? Just dump the domain name back into the pool of free names. Do they think I'm really going to bid millions of dollars to own smut.com?

  6. Re:Will MP3's Perish? on MP3: The Definitive Guide · · Score: 1

Yeah. Do you want to know why? Sony is the largest player in the music industry. They have more recording artists that anyone else. Who invented cassettes? CDs? Minidiscs? Sony. Does this shock me? No. Did Sony invent the MP3 format? No. If you start putting things together, Sony founds and pushes RIAA to attack the MP3 stating that it has security holes (which it does) while they propose a solution that they can collect money on. So yes, MP3s will perish only because Sony has more money that everyone in Milwaukee. ****** The above opinions are my own. Britny Spears may really be a robot with a VAIO computer as a brain. ******

Well if your going to buffer the files and write some wicked code, why not just pull out the old soldering iron and start attaching some S3 chips.

Visual Source Safe? We had to use it on a company project once. We would check in the code at night for the backups and builds but the next day, the code had reverted back to some combiniation of old code and new code. We ended up spending a month working with various consultants before we just gave up.

It's amazing how much version control a whiteboard and a shared network drive can offer.

I have seen a lot of software that you can download for a discounted price. I just want to know what happens with M$ Windows crashes and you lose your software. Does the company allow you to download it again without paying a second time?
