Logmein remote support isnt too bad, but rather limited. I prefer Logmein Hamachi. Its a zero config VPN util. Once the client is installed on both computers you can VNC, browse, RDP or anything else you would do on a LAN.
I have linux boxes all over the place and there are literally thousands of ssh/sft/etc attempts on each box each day. None of them are successful though.
