Easy - get yourself to some local med school and barter for a finger from some leftover dissection class (there's gotta be tons of extra fingers right?). Make sure it has a nice print. Anyway, retrain your work security system on the new finger, and pop that baby around your neck on a string. If the system has one of those annoying "it has to be warm" features just stick it in your mouth for a minute before use.

This is a good solution if you are using a laptop, and don't want extra wires or jump drives sticking out of it. Costs about $140. It is basically the mechanism that goes in an ipod I believe. I don't think they sell higher capacity versions of this outside the 'pod. Works great for my personal data on a work laptop.
Sure there is the potential for abuse, but by this standard you might as well turn off your email, right?
Turns out that SMS is extremely useful and adds functionality that is LESS intrusive than making a voice call when used correctly: There are many times when a phone call is not needed (and would be more intrusive) than a short text message with the info needed between correspondents.
If you doubt SMS is useful, ee the vast volume of legit SMS traffic in Europe.
If you run a server and have no idea how to secure it, this book will get you to plug all the obvious holes in short order.
After that it's just a question of how much time and effort you want to expend being safe from the more determined attacks. The strength of this book is that it is organized so you can get the most from your early simpler efforts, but still goes into as much depth as you need if you want to get really serious.
Try Process Lasso, it has a process log feature. Very handy.
