Reminds me of a "study" I saw once in which the researcher proved that kids in elementary grades with bigger feet scored better in standardized tests.
This was met with great awe until it was explained by him that this was due to the fact that kids with larger feet are older:)
Well so you have your VBS virus write a web bug into every created document. In this is the registry settings that hold your password stored in a cookie and anytime you open the document you have "sent" your passwords to the bug writer.
Can we say hole the size of... well the size of Windows....:)
We know that it was the processor because we took those same exact computers and replaced the processors with Pentiums of the same speed and we had no further problems with those machines. Unfortunately buying 50+ brand new processors hasn't fit into the budget for those old machines so they still just limp along. Worst part is that AMD never recognized it as a fault so we could never get warrantee work out of the dealer.
Reminds me way too much of the ploys that AMD once employed in trying to be the first ones out. We still have a batch of K5s that have the tendency to die at least once every 15 minutes in NT. Works fine on windows though. Sounds just like "in some laboratory situations":)
They should use this to their advantage... try and get the satellites to burn their brightest on the way in a plunge them in view. Make a statement such as "If we can make the stars fall what do you think we can do for you?"
Will be interesting to see how their PR team can handle this one. Motorola is known for its environmentally friendly techniques that it tries to employ. Wonder if anyone will pull up the "raining garbage" ploy on them.:)
#5. You can kill the poor auctioneer when it gets in the millions...
#4. They never state the condition of the container.
#3. Have to give out your Dilythium Express number.
#2. Seller only has 2 good ratings... both from small middle east countries.
#1. Shipping and handling more than most lifetime incomes.
I mean isn't that the measure of any linux computer? With a 66mhz processor I can't see it being that fast but I also wonder how big its kernel is. I guess we shall see....
If you notice on one of their pages it states: "Syncing with Linux with Rsync" which means that it is just copying the files accross... Since the code is open source (supposedly) then we can read those file formats and even write our own if need be. I think that the "Quicksync" is just their name for the windows side of that transfer.
I have really liked the Sony machines in the past. What I am hoping is that this will be a little cheaper.
All the Sony machines already have killer battery life so adding a Transmeta chip might just make these the killer hardware app for those long airplane flights.
Wow does this mean that I will be getting AOL skeet shooting fodder (CDs) in the next Linux mags that I get? I will have to say that excluding stand alone AOL boxes this is probably not a good move on AOL's part. What user that uses Linux on a normal basis would pay for AOL's service?
Ohh well at least it is a token gesture from the worlds largest ISP.
I am very glad that the governement is finally moving to make itself adhere to some more open source mentality. For all the hundreds of thousands of documents they prepare each year it is amazing how little of their actual work is published. Would be nice to see how well those government types can code their Ada:)
This will be a great thing for larger companies wanting to be virtual servers or co-location facilities. They can run each linux server for the client allowing them to have shell level access with complete safety. If they screw it up you just load another session from backup. You never have to worry about screwing up the master server.
Kindof be nice to house 1000+ "machines" in only 1 box. Lacks redundancy but hey doesn't everything in computing nowadays.
For all his statements he sure doesn't look around too much. We all mostly know about Enlightenment and it runs on X-window with everything that he wants including the anti-aliasing and such. As to a single floppy with xwindows and a kernel. It can be done, our university had it done as a masters project. True it doesn't use a support everything kernel or anything like that but it does meet all the requirements.

So where is the fire swamp to go along with the Rodents Of Unusual Size?
So Microsoft isn't the only one that likes that pretty blue color. I think the sync should rethink their color choice! :)
