  1. Because cost?

They're trying to fund 6000 people for 12 years. That's 864k months. If you tried to give everyone a thousand bucks a month, this project would need a billion to be funded.

  5. First, who wants that? Wireless charging is actually incredibly inconvenient under most circumstances. First, you can't use the phone sensibly while it's charging. Yes, you can pick up the phone and interrupt the charging to use it, but that does just that: It interrupts the charging process and drains the battery, increasing the time considerably that the phone spends on the charger, which is already longer than it would remain plugged in in the first place. Then, taking that charger with you to use it, e.g. at work or at a friend's place, is inconvenient to say the least. With the standardization of power adapters in phones today (ok, not with Apple, I know, but with pretty much any other phone), I don't even have to take my charger with me at all, it's near impossible that there isn't one where I am going to go. I would not count on that with this charging system.

And second question, does that mean Apple now plans to get rid of the power (plus whatever else) socket, too? Because then the aforementioned problem would sure be more than just a nuisance which could be avoided by simply using a normal data/power cord to charge them.

Anyway. aside of the "oh you don't know computers and it's so obvious I don't even have to point it out", what you offer is the usual "if you don't like it, make your own, preferably with blackjack and hookers" gambit. C'mon, you can do better than that. But ok, ok, I bite.

Making your own is pointless. For the exact same reason that the already existing superior OSs cannot succeed. And for exactly the same reason making a more consumer oriented movie player than the locked down and crippled BluRay players won't fly: You are fully dependent on the third party market. There is exactly two reasons why people use Windows. Companies, because it's too expensive to move to a new system and have all their custom built software redone, and private users because their games only run on Windows.

There isn't one single reason anyone wants to use Windows that is due to the Operating System's advantages. All Windows has to its advantage is that people want to run programs that are unavailable if they don't swallow the shit sandwich.

Microsoft increasingly reminds me of old Soviet times, where everyone knew the system was mostly done for and artificially propped up, with everyone knowing about the huge problems despite them being denied by the party, and huge and boisterous promises being made of what we'll have "really soon now", despite everyone knowing it's not ever coming to fruition. From time to time, some "achievements" were announced which either nobody really gave a shit about or that were simply and plainly fake. While at the same time the really pressing issues were never even addressed, let alone solved. There wasn't even an attempt to solve them. Instead, money was squandered away on gimmicky, flashy show projects that could be paraded. And the jokes reflect that from

    "Little Vova, where's your dad?"
"He's in orbit, but will be back in an hour."
    "And your mom?"
"Oh, that could take a while, she queued for butter!"

Games are a very odd commodity in that aspect that they cost literally nothing per unit now. At least they had a low per-unit cost attached back when you actually had to produce at least a CD to ship it on.
