Sadly I think this is the only real alternative for developing any mature MMOs under Java... so it's either the community taking the workload and continuing the project or it's back to C++:-(
one suggestion tho: move the moderation status and score to the main bulk of text (to the left). A bit annoying as it is since it's too far to the right...

and acctually made a few modifications to the machine (he's a lawyer! a geek lawyer, go figure!)
Now, iirc when my dad bought ours, it was already assembled.

I just read the chat transcript over Artistdirect and I was wondering... if this crusade is only against Napster why the hell did you break into 334+ thousand of users privacy and threatened to prosecute?? This was WAY beyond the line and I would love to know what do you think this will accomplish?. I think you guys shot yourselves here, making enemies where you don't need them...the consumers itself. You better not go blind into this trusting your managers cause you could end up in pretty bad shape thanks to those suckers...and they won't give a damn about it, I'm sure they only care about you because of your $$$. Loose touch with your fans...aka 'customers' and you will do great...(sarcasm...)
I'm not the kind that goes around bitching 'bout things but to see heavy hitters such as 3Dfx and SGI among others involved in a neat project like this...and to have such a lame page (look at the graphic...they could have done something a little more attractive). And they have some of their docs in.pdf, yuck... Kudos to them for the neat project anyhow!

don't want to sound like a smartass here, but have you tried ALSA's OSS emulation?
haven't checked if this is at all possible with the nforce4, it's just a thought.
