  1. Re:Interesting implication... on Very Tiny Motor: Nano-level · · Score: 1

Sounds a great deal like "The Tommyknockers," by Stephen King. Could this lead to a "crew pit" where the crew is wired into the power-requiring machines of our buildings, ships, planes, etc., as in Mr. King's novel?

Very funny, but a bit innacurate. No Microsoft service would give anyone the option of skipping the ads, whether the option works or not. I mean, what are the lives of innocent women and children, when compared to selling MS software? From an MS marketdroid POV?

  3. Weather Compatibility List on The Media on Microsoft's "Crack this..." ploy · · Score: 1

Perhaps this should be an "Ask Slashdot" topic.

So when does the M$ Offical Weather Compatibility List (WCL) come out, and where do I get it? Trial and error can be a frustrating thing. However, I have learned that warm rainy evenings and hot humid Sunday afternoons are NOT good Service Packin' Weather conditions. God knows what a thunderstorm would have done to my Sexchange swerver!

  4. 16 GB Limit gone? Don't believe M$. on Ask Slashdot: Building a Large Email Service · · Score: 1

Poke through the Event Log. Note the messages from the IS startup. They plainly state that the Iformation Store is limited to 16 GB in Exchange 5.5. Then go to M$ Technet and read about how the limit no longer exists in Exchange 5.5. Notice how M$ makes no explicit mention of Standard or Enterprise Editions when touting this. We read the BS, believed the ads and PR, and installed Exchange 5.5. We were just starting out, and didn't know much, but M$ solutions are easy, right? A year and a half later, I've had Exchange out and out die for no reason 3 times. The Information Store (800-900 MB)gets corrupted on a daily basis. Setting size limits on a mailbox results in a message stating that the mailbox has been deleted once it is full for God's sake!

Don't forget the Big Bang Burger Bar. If you can watch the Big Bang while you eat, it must have existed before the Universe in the Great Whatzit that was there before the Universe, and is currently being pushed back by the edge of the Universe.

I gave it a try in passing. NT4 SP3 here at work. It renders /. well, but locked up when I tried to login.
