Ok this shows how little people know about the Army's responsibility here. First off they are charged with making sure a waterway is "Navigable" not that your house is not going to be swamped. The waterway was navigable before the storm, during the storm and after the storm. Had the water been completely drained off into another geological feature and not been "navigable" after the storm they would have been at fault. This Ruling is pure bullshit, it's designed to force insurance companies to cough up the dough for these ppl's houses. If someone can be found to be at fault then they have to pay and then can sue that party for the damages. What better party to sue for damages than the one with the most money, the federal government. Lesson learned if you live in hole and it rains, expect to be flooded or drowned. To expect ANY structure made by men to withstand and act of god is total stupidity.
It is amazing to me that most ppl cannot make the abundantly clear connection between our way of life and the natural world. Do you think that our economy coming apart at the same time the ecology is breaking down is a mere coincidence? Do you ppl really think your separate from the natural world? This storm was a clear sign that our entire system here in the US is completely broken and needs to be torn all the way down and rebuilt from scratch. The trillions the federal government has spent in bailouts is a clear sign that our leaders have lost all touch with reality and is a sure sign that the American ppl are doomed to repeat tragedies like this. The status quo has changed the reason why is because grandpa is dead and the upcoming generation doesn't even know how to be conservative with resources. Katrina was a baby storm ppl, the next one might flood the Mississippi from the coast to the Missouri. No amount of money can stop the “storms” coming in this world; what is happening is a complete and utter change in our way of life.
Wow I really can believe I didn't find any comments as to the real reason whey they want to do this. Has anyone ever considered what would happen if this were passed? First and foremost it would make the physical RCA component jack completely obsolete. There would be no reason to have the physical port there if no media supported it. This would push device manufacturers to remove it from all new devices. Now you may think oh well its like 2 cents added to the cost of the device, but look at it from the perspective the total number of these produced in a year for all the different devices out there. Some company is going to lose a significant portion of their profits(you have to figure that the R&D of this component was paid for years ago so by now whoever is producing them is make big profits) and many companies are going to save a significant portion on costs. As far as I am concerned the MPAA doesn't even factor into this equation. This is a cost driven ploy on the part of different corporations an investors they are just using the MPAA as their muscle. Case in point I know that X company produces this composite jack. I know that the FCC may regulate this. I buy long short(really cheap) in that company and wait for the media. I guess the point I am really trying to make is that even though the consumer and the MPAA appear to be the major players here, I just don't see the economics adding up to that.

Nefarious dealing or not every should be encrypting everything, IMO that's the best way to deal iwth teh "fedgov" as you call them, make them waste there money decrypting my email that simply says "F$ck Y0$"
I have been using Seamonkey since the beginning of September(the alpha) updating it nightly and I can tell you this browser is the sh!t. I have had only 6 crashes since I started using it. All six times I had over 20 tabs open and 5 out of the six times I was able to fully recover right back to where I was before the crash.(so in essence I only had 1 complete crash) The only problem I have with the browser is some fonts (Tahoma in my case) look jagged when set in an H1 or H2 tag. But generally this browser is much better than Firefox IMHO and it makes IE look like baby code in comparison.
