Metering the content instead of the bandwidth is completely ass backwards. "Saturation" is a purely bandwidth issue. The "content" doesn't change, it is merely copied into memory/cache/storage. And what's the deal? I thought "broadcasting" should make it a non issue.
All the complaints simply go unheard. It's hardly up for debate. The marketing department has spoken. May as well spend the rest of the day talking about the weather for what good it will do.
It's not about child or encryption. It's about compelling the assistance in one's own prosecution. Unfortunately I'm one of those in the tiny minority that believes it should never be allowed. I'm hoping the guy holds out for what it's worth. Maybe it's better for him to remain a suspected 'child porn suspect'.
I'm half way expecting a constitutional convention to come up within a couple of years. We can kiss the bill of rights and other civil rights goodbye when it happens. The general attitude has turned against them.
You take your chances on the first attempt. But why in the world would you reelect him or the party when he screws up? And then you got these kind of guys in there for five or six terms, what is up with that? The problem is now self inflicted. It's not even politics anymore, it's a pathology.
Yeah, the moon should be first choice anyway as a base camp for building, testing and launching the long distance stuff. I don't understand the lack of interest in that phase. Along with the food and water, you just gotta get or build a smelter up there and mechanize the process as much as possible. Easy, right? A lot easier than doing it on Mars, that's for sure. You don't need extra lead for the radiation, a thick layer of moon dirt is sufficient.
Just stop reelecting the ones that are bought off. Don't blame them for winning. The power comes from the voters' preference. They are the ones selling out to the highest bidder.
I wouldn't worry about his "wide stance" on H1-Bs. I wonder why he's sabotaging his campaign so quickly. I mean, really, Fiorina? Are people actually voting for a ticket like that?
The best way price the service is by content agnostic simple bandwidth with guaranteed minimums (not the phony *Up to* a gazillion MB/s). Rationing data is not needed. Pay for the pipe, not what goes through. You can still offer incentives for off peak usage. The American consumer fell down in not demanding it be done that way. We really need muni-fiber to put up some real competition against these people.
People who shape their traffic and plan large downloads at overnight aren't clogging up the lines. Why punish customers who are making their best efforts to not impact other people? We should be rewarding that behavior.
Because they'll clog the lines during the overnight. Comcast has a ton of money. They can afford to install fatter pipes. If people only made a stronger demand for municipal service, the threat of actual competition would make pricing and service much more reasonable.
Wrong, it's thanks to the vote count. If public stops selling his vote to the highest bidder, there is no way even the richest guy can occupy the office. It is pretty straight forward, maybe too much so. So simple it's unblievable.
Many times the poor customer doesn't know what a fair or competitive price for the work is, or it's an emergency and their basement is filling up with water and it's 1 am on a Sunday and they have little choice but tp pay what's asked..
:-) That's not quite what I meant. According to recording/movie industry practices, playing back a recording of a plumber clearing the drain is the same thing as actually doing it, and that the distributor has exclusive rights to decide who can even see it. They want to charge full rent for a picture of an apartment, a picture of the garage is extra.
If they thought about it, they would do wild and crazy things, like petition for and vote for independent candidates. You don't need money to get on the ballot. You only need signatures and votes. If you speak up they cannot stop you. If you don't make the effort, then you will suffer destiny. 98% of the people who vote choose to follow the herd, but it's still a personal choice. No outside force was applied.
More than one person was arrested for refusing to yield. Parks inspired action, which was also declared illegal. And besides I'm not comparing the two, you are. The principles of human liberties behind the actions are the same. It is simple disobedience against bureaucratic fiat as a human right. I am not to argue the degree of urgency.
I need to point out that an account bought with an American credit/debit card is an American account. Who cares if the guy is Canadian, or African, or whatever? And one way or another the person is entitled to view that library regardless of his location. When logging into the account, Netflix knows where it is from and should supply the full library available it does at home. If they refuse, then the best advice is to use the alternative, no question. As always, don't take unnecessary risks.
Heh, that kinda is marketspeak for "Intel is moving out of the low margin, already saturated consumer market into something with indefinite growth potential"
Well, there are some people who are willing to tell them where to stuff their exclusivity. And the industry can expect only more push back against the idea. "Legal" or "illegal" isn't going to make a difference. I see the weakening of national borders as a good thing. Removing the bricks in the wall, one by one.

That's good. I was worried there would be no place to plug in my headphones
:-) That is the idea...
Doesn't Cisco have some back doors in its routers that need looking after?
Regardless, my whole point has always been that it is not the "system's" fault. All choices are still personal no matter what the motivation.
It might not be audible, but the db level can still cause damage. Somebody should measure it to confirm.

100K. That's gotta be loud.

It's best to regulate the bandwidth, not the volume of data. Then "saturation" is not an issue.

But they can execute it anyway? Nice!
Gatekeeper? What are they keeping us from?
thanks to lots of lobbying dollars

It is not rigged... We are programmed to follow...
It is up to us to turn our backs

It's okay, the barriers have to come down anyway. They can adjust the price by the currency rates
