Please remind me when you had that big town meeting in the US where you all decided that US citizens should pay more for drugs so that the rest of the world could have it cheaper. Don't you realize how ridiculous that sounds?
So manufacture for free, work basically for free and give it to them for free is the reason why e.g AstraZeneca had a core operating profit of $6.9bn for 2017? And that out of a Total Revenue of $22.5bn which means that they have a profit margin of 30%, I think that you currently work for a company that have a much lower profit margin than what they have.
You cannot go after a company with lawyers when you feel that they don't make as much profit as you think they could. What you do is raise the question at the shareholders meeting and hope that you get a majority of the stock votes in favor of your suggestion to steer the company in a different direction. No company is legally required to provide as much profit as possible to it's shareholders, that is just a myth that for some reason is common here on Slashdot.
And it's somewhat more complicated here since also every member of the exchange have to switch over their systems to use the secondary site, and due to their rules they cannot open unless all members have switched. Also there had already been trades between members right before and right at the moment the servers was destroyed so there where some cleaning up to do as well (all the trades had to be cancelled).
Well they have a secondary site at which they opened trading hours later, the question that is left for Nasdaq to answer is why it took them so long to open trading on the secondary site when they and us the members take part in regularly disaster exercises where everyone switches to use the secondary site within seconds.
I think that the best advice you can give your very powerful clients is to base all their IT on Adobe Flash, that would save them from the horrors of open source.
You are confusing full price with "how much can we charge US citizens". PR people at Pharma companies might very well tell you propaganda like that but it does not mean that it's true. And if you didn't already know this far from all drugs are invented in the US.
So the drug companies have made a market decision that American will pay more for the same drugs than Europeans (and this happens in every market which is why computers are more expensive in one country while cars might be cheaper and so on), exactly how is this freeloading again?
Yes there is, or rather there will be since Meltdown (Spectre3) is a design flaw in the current Intel architecture that they can and will fix in new cpu:s.
Monsanto cannot do that (nor do they want to), what they patent are their special version of a seed which in no form what so ever prevents you from harvesting it and eating it.
I don't think that this is really something that the designers have missed since it's built in a country with snow and rain in the majority of the seasons. And their first test track have withstood 5 winters so far.
They claim that it's self-cleaning and also that they have a special cleaning vehicle if there is more debris than the automatic system can handle. However time will tell, this is a 2 year project to see how well the technology works in real world scenarios (they have run an internal test track for 5 years already).
A claim over the weekend that London’s murder rate in February and March exceeded New York’s has been dismissed by police chiefs because it was based on too short a period. New York had 292 murders in 2017 and has had 50 so far this year.
That there is no country with zero gun crime does not mean that it's as easy to get an illegal gun in that country. It just means that at least one person managed to get their hands on one. If it where easy then every criminal would get one but still a place like Chicago have more shootings per day than what we have per year in out entire country and then from what I can gather Chicago is far from the worst place in the US when it comes to shootings.
You don't need to login in order for youtube to present a specific front page for you. They track your ip address among other things, e.g my kids view videos on their phones over our WiFI and suddenly the youtube front page on the TV (which is not logged in at all) changes to promote content that is similar to what the kids where watching on their phones.
Or the ugly truth is that these events happen so often now in the US that one where the only victim where the perpetrator herself does not qualify as newsworthy.
But a failed drug would not have come close to cost $388,000,000 since it would have been terminated much sooner in it's development.

More importantly, are 90% of pharma projects unsuccessful?

Aiming for +5 funny I see. It's a kernel module called VDO: https://rhelblog.redhat.com/20...

Neither of these tools do.

A hw fix for Spectre2 is coming according to Intel.

Freeloaders? So you think that we in Europe does not pay for the patents and drugs sold by US companies?

You do realize that this is built in a country where it snows a lot and that their first road have survived 5 snowy winters with out any problems?

So "timeout /t 10 /nobreak > NUL" was not cool enough I guess.
From one of your links (The Guardian):

I would rather say that the crazy was in her brain.
