    There are plenty of Supermarket chains in the UK:

    • Tesco
    • Asda
    • Safeway
    • Somerfield
    • Sainsburys
    • ...
    These are located nationally, and then you've got regional ones (Waitrose, Co-op, ...).

    OK, we are going to have to find a new technology because they're going to hit a limit on increasing drive density... Ummm, no.

    To double storage capacity it is not essential to double density - you could double the physical size of disk (or add another).

    Just because they cannot get smaller doesn't mean they get ditched - Want double the storage, get double the number of disks...

    As an interesting aside, 'Berwick upon Tweed' should probably be known as 'Berwick in Tweed' if you treat Multi Map as gospel!

    Berwick upon Tweed is in England, so it is subject to english Law - simple. It's just one of these areas that is a historic anomaly due to its constant switching between England and Scotland, leaving holes in historic documents as a result (eg leading to Berwick still being officialy at war with Germany). That fact that its football team plays in a Scottish league is interesting, but nothing more.

    The Duchy of Lancaster is normally touted around with the same quasi-country myths as Berwick.

    As for The CI, IOM, ... these are essentially British territories/dominions are have legal systems based on English Law - there 'supreme court' is the House of Lords in London.

    The problem however is that he was incorrect! Yet his post is being moderated up to the sky... A prime example of moderators judging on what they do not understand!

    Please please please could we make the distinction between the UK and England here. this ruling affects the UK so go England is hardly appropriate, I'm sure the poster knows the difference betweent the UK and England but a lot of idnorant people read these articles
    Are you certain? The article does mention 'English Law' - Scotland has its own legal system.

    Normally i'm all for pointing out the use of 'UK' over 'England' to our American cousins, however this looks like a valid case for using 'England'...

    One would imagine these guys could author a decent page, but no...

    The text is unreadable due to the background graphic/colour. However this is not always the case! The page seems to alternate between having a blue 'W3C Recommendation' background and a sane white background. Hit reload on it and see for yourself... Chaotic! (or is this Netscape gone crazy)

    Forget XML, XHTML, we need miniHTML! Just the minimal subset of P, UL, simple TABLE, ...

    I find the idea that someone can patent human Dna knowledge sickening. That someone can control the use of my own DNA is horrible. Patents have gone mad, this is just sad.
    They cannot control the use of your DNA - you would still be quite able to pass on your DNA (or merge it) by having children.

    What other use do you have for your DNA?.

    The Drug Empires are just looking to guarantee a return on their investments - it sucks, but that's Big Business. I hope the HGP beat them to the key genes/patents.

    You'll note that i did not say that - I did not mention guns at all. I can see legal uses of guns (for one the economy around here is dependant on game hunting).

    However I connot fund any legal uses of chemical weapons, and computer viruses...

    I'd agree with the majority that a user is responsible for the misuse of a tool (and i'd include software in this term).

    HoweverConsider tools/processes that have no legitimate use, such as chemical weapons. I believe i'm correct in thing that development of chemical weapons is illegal (in most civilised contries). Computer viruses should be considered in the same light.

    Rather than porting Debian (or rather the GNU Linux suite that makes up most distributions) to work with a FreeBSD kernel, attention should be turned to *BSD's 'Ports' system.

    Porting 'Ports' to Debian/Linux would make more sense...
