These weird shipping issues crop up when items are stored in different warehouses (check your shipping label). I've ordered several items from newegg.com and the cables always ship in another box from another location. Tearing open a large FedEx box expecting a new video card only to find a puny IDE cable is quite disheartening. At least until the next day when the real box arrives.
How about this article? "Could Bill Gates write code?"

Reuben Harris has been disassembling a binary with some help from Monte Davidoff, the third author of Altair BASIC (along with Gates and Paul Allen) and who we interviewed here last week. He has the same question in mind:-
"'Could Bill Gates Write Code?' Or was he merely the luckiest man alive," before concluding... "Yes He Bloody Could!"

Miyazaki said the same thing after finishing "Princess Mononoke", so take it with a grain of salt.
He's currently producing Studio Ghibli's next two films. A new Miyazaki-directed film will probably appear in 2004, if he hasn't retired for the third time by then.
Please check the Nausicaa.net news archives for articles on all of the above.
The "Anime Cartoon International" sets are not "grey market", they're bootlegs. Grey market goods are offical, but reverse-imported from the sale country.
I refer you to this page with a quote from Tokuma (parent company of Studio Ghibli):

"NO plans" is incorrect. Disney has not stated they are totally pulling out of the US market. Believe me, there's been a ton of virtual ink spilled over this issue, lots of information in back issues of MML Traffic.(1)
Also, signing an on-line petition isn't that helpful. To really make your voice heard, write a _physical_ letter. Address.(2)
The Washington Post (one of the few news sites I'm able to access) is running several Q&A sessions with reporters/experts. One chat[1] is finished and a few more are scheduled for today. ; [1]: http://discuss.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/zforum/01/freemedia_kaiser091101.htm

Lots of translated German articles from the recently concluded Berlin International Film Festival.
No, the Tokuma/Disney contract(1) forbits any cuts in the films. Note that "Princess Mononoke" didn't lose a frame from Japan => US.
But the facts just get in the way, right?

"Kiki's Delivery Service" was the target of the CWA (Concerned Women for America). You can read their "press release" here.(1)

Yes, read all about it at the Mononoke CG page on Nausicaa.net: http://www.nausicaa.net/miyazaki/mh/cg.html
Or pick up the "Art of Princess Mononoke", it contains a section on CG.
Uh oh! Microsoft was involved!
The "Mononoke Hime" DVD is scheduled for release in Japan this November.[1] It had been listed as a 2002 release, but got moved up.

Yes it does, Disney contributed 10% of the cost of "Sen" for distribution rights outside of Japan.
Disney does not control Studio Ghibli! They simply have an agreement to distribute the films.[1]
Miyazaki retains total control over his projects, although he's reaching That Age and probably won't direct another (feature-length) film after "Sen".

"Princess Mononoke" _was_ released under Miramax in theaters. Then Buena Vista handled the VHS/DVD.
> I don't think any money from this collection
> goes to Disney.
Sure, but Studio Ghibli doesn't get any either. Buy the R2 DVDs as they arrive.
Nope, in Minneapolis it opened in 13+ multiplexes, it received TV ads/newspaper/etc. The concept of "animation for children" was the biggest problem.
