No I would just compile it and install it on my phone without jail breaking it.

I certainly could but then again I would have to have at least a small amount of interest in doing so.

I am a developer and the reality is that I can put anything on my phone and actually 100 of my friends phones that I want. I will keep your mindless rant in the front of my thoughts as I collect my app check this month.
Solar cells pay for themselves after a few years and then keep on giving.
If that was the case you would see the whole state of Arizona covered in panels. The reality is that at current installed cost there is no ROI without govt subsidies.
The issue has nothing to do with politics and everything to do with money. If the numbers worked out there would be massive spending from the private sector into alternative energy. Instead we have massive govt spending to subsidize alternative energy source with no chance of a ROI.
I have only ever seen one android based phone since it was released. I cannot begin to tell you how many iphones I see in a single day but it is a bunch. Something pretty damn drastic would have to change for me or anyone else that I know before they would give up their iphone.
I seen at least one person in the video with a weapon. Standing near a person in a war zone armed is a bad idea as the video clearly shows. For all we know ground forces at the time may have been engaged with other combatants in that area.

I have been thinking about getting a ipad but I just don't see it being able to replace my aspire one netbook. I use my netbook so much that I think it has been a few weeks since I fired up my desktop machine. The battery life is amazing, weighs next to nothing and can load just about any software.
You are 100% correct, but you forgot a even better benefit for running operations outside the US. The new health care bill wants to fine you if you are lucky enough to exceed 50 employees. Why take that hit much smarter to just hire off shore labor and worry about none of that .

If it was economically advantageous it would already be that way. I don't know about you but I like a return on investement and solar panels do not provide that today.
The US govt is way to hostile to manufacturing operations and as of the health care bill signing yesterday it is going to get much worse. Manufacturing in the US will not exist very shortly.
I think it is a fantastic idea I get to drop my expensive health care insurance policy. The fine is far less than I pay a year and with premium increases it will only get more so. A insurance company will not be able to deny me coverage which is a killer deal. So I don't get insurance, pay a small fine and when I get sick then I will get a policy.
And yes it did tarnish the name, I have not touched it since I downloaded a ad supported version. I did not even know that they dropped ad support from the product. I am a perfectly happy firefox customer now so yes I would say it cost them a bundle of market share.
Having built some rather processor heavy apps for the iphone the only thing that counts to me is to be able to utilize every single cpu cycle. Writing apps for these devices is easy, writing apps that can perform is another matter entirely.
Exactly that is why you see so many 3d games written in java, throw in physics and you should get.2 frames per second. The iphone however can easily handle all that at better than 30 fps.
Just for the record I am a SA and Programmer, I love java apps, they require gobs of hardware to run on. The more deployed hardware the more money I make.

Until recently I thought the same way, I would never endorse a solution that involves java. However a recently came to the same realization that sun did when they created it. Java is a fantastic way to over sell gobs of expensive hardware. I am a system administrator so the more hardware it takes to run a solution the better off I am, more machines, more money and better job security. So I have now fully jumped on the java bandwagon, java makes me smile.
I love oracle it is a fine database, would I personally buy it? Nope, but as long as it is OPM (Other Peoples Money) I am perfectly fine with it. Now say I was designing something like a medical records system oracle would be a no brainer. Missing a couple of tweets here and there who is really going to care.

Yes that is a fantastic idea, I hope you suckers like paying my medical bills.

LimeWire 400,000 , wow 400k infested machines a week, how awesome.
None of them are as cheap as coal, if you had to rely on the alternatives you would not be able to afford to heat or cool your home.
We have over 250 years worth of easily available coal here in the US.

Is there really a huge issue with rdbms speeds? I don't know perhaps you should pose that question to google for instance.
I think we are being too hard on the parent, he probably really was referring to .net binaries...oh wait!
