Oh I agree that you do need to know about OO but from the comments on similar stories on here and stack over flow it appears that a lot of CS degrees are turning out programmers and not rounded software engineers.
Does PIC device programming fit the OO paradime NO and neither does 90% of technical programming or at the high end does IBM Mainframe assembler work with OO NO.
I always thought the obsession with making everything OO when it doesn't suit every type of programming problem was a bad thing - glad to see some one agrees with me.
RE herr Farimir of the ithilain gestapo - if you listen to the directors commentary they more or less say that they messed with the character and re shot some scenes
i suspect that google actually employed some real EE's or ex telco power guys and they pointed out that 48v is the standard for that and you can already buy carrier grade gear to run of 48v.
I didn't have any photos or diary entries on the DEC and Prime computers I worked on at my first job? a computer is for more than entering pics of you on face book you know:-)
why do you need to record which way the voted - you could always have printed ballots yes and no with id numbers - this is the way trade unions do card votes.
from experience Its perfectly possible for a chair to do hand votes for 200/300 delegates and you could always have tellers count if its close or use card votes and count them. The debate is the important part.
maybe you need to read Citrine and/or Robbert's on how parliamentary systems work and all talk to some people with actual experience.
no you have to break the security part by altering the code running on the processor of the AP.
any router or AP has all the functional requirements to be a computer - turing et all defined this back in the 40's
no hang out on likedin and quora in the HR/Personnel sections and see some of the creepy/illegal things that hr types and mangers (who make the PHB seem like saint) ask for advice on how to get away with.
maybe Liberation theology took off in IBM or would open source be like vatican II
Catholics are more like IBM
from what I see its the fringe Protestant cults in the USA that are doing this - condoms and birth control id give you that.
yes does Vivek not realize that its been going down hill for engineers since Brunell died.

True i wasn't saying it doesn't have its uses but it (OO) is abused in areas where it doesn't really add value and try doing OO on a PIC12F1822 :-)
I am a bad programmer because i don't blindly apply one model to every problem ?

well apart for the high end ones which get called switches :-)

routers have a file system look at ddwrt and IOS
is not a routers password and other "secrets" "personal" information
really 99.9% of people working it IT would call a router a computer - do you actually work in IT or are you a hipster with a mac laptop ?
what point are you trying to make a router can be made to run arbitrary code what does IO have to do with it?
i would consider my "secret" that i used to secure the router personal information in teh same way my atm card pin is personal information
sorry do you know anything a "general purpose" computer has a specific technical meaning in CS. and all routers pass that
all routers can run arbitrary code. look up ddwrt
