I personally think that the user interface will be basically the same. Voice recognition will more or less just replace your mouse. I'm sure there will be other advantages and different options with voice recognition but the the visual interface will remain somewhat the same. Now a revolutionary new visual interface would be cool like a 3D display of some kind, not virtual reality but more like that dogfighting game you see those aliens playing in the bar in the original Starwars. Anyone heard of anything cool like that in the works?
Couple this new technology with the tiny hard drive technology mentioned on Slashdot a week or two back and we could eventually see Supercomputer wrist watches! Or for that matter many other devices. We may just see the next really big technological advance in our time. But we must always remember, the government takes roughly 30% of ever single paycheck earned in this entire country(U.S.) And on top of that they take about 6% on most retail sales. And there are countless other taxes. There are millions and millions of people working and paying taxes, My point they have an amazing amount of money and plenty of agendas. They must have absolutely amazing technology. I mean , they have thousands of the very best scientist and practically unlimited funds. One wonders about what they have already had for years.... and more importantly what they are or are planning on doing with it. But anyway I'm excited to see where all this goes... If anyone here has any further information about anything like this already in the works(conspiracy theorys, or people already planning on useing alot of these new experimental technologies together)please reply =)
Hey , I may be wrong but if it was possible to split an atom with a circut board do you really think they would be using tons of super high explosives and huge missiles to catapult these things half way around the world? no.
Ok, let me start by saying that I dont appreciate the whole idea of big corporations trying to monopolize any one idea to the point of preventing others from making similar but signifigant contributions to the marketplace. However, my personal impression of this company and the product they are offering is that they are simply attempting to ride the wave that Mac started. Just read the website, catchy "you need to be cool like everyone else" type marketing schemes amidst somewhat shite Webdesign. Just by looking at the computer its blatently obvious it got its inspiration from the iMac. Please read that last sentence again placing a big emphasis on the little dot at the end. So what was the argument again? Should they be legally able to take this idea and make some money from it, possibly taking some of Macs peice of the pie at the same time? Does Mac have a patent on the idea? I think the results of this little debate whether here on SlashDot or in a court of law can be settled with little or no discussion at all.
I think the Atari 800 server is GREAT! Ive been joking about incredibly slow sites for a few years now. I'd always say to myself, "what are these people running this site of an Atari or a scientific calculator or something" I just think its great that my own sick humor is someones reality.
While I agree that space exploration clearly seems like the solution of the future ( given our curent rate of consumption of natural resources and exponential growth ) Unfortunately Space is so incredibly vast that exploration ( byond our own sola system ) is futile. At least it is in our lifetime. The most we can hope for the generations that follow is an established space program to insure that we can, in the very least become a sort of nomad just as we were thousands of years ago. Everything willcome full circle (one small circle amongst infinite circles) and we will enter new territory. Unfortunately hundreds of generations will need to live and die in the void of space to even get close to the nearest sun. Doesnt sound too promising. Hopefully technology will prevail and we wil someday have a more efficent form of travel. Which brings me to another off the point topic : Even the way we produce electricity is completely and totaly primitive. We still need to boil water. Coal, oil, gas, nuclear, we still need to boil water to spin a turbine. Solor power is the only form of power that doesnt require the need to boil water, we need to develop the use of solar power its ptential is unlimited.
I dont know why no one has considered the other possible causes of this crash.....The REAL cover up, and the REAL story... Its obvious that the Martians were expecting this new and improved lander and this time they knew they had to do more than hide out of its sight. See i'm not sure if everyone is aware but the martians are able to receive out radio transmissions (they are smart) Long story short, the Martians shot it down, what can we do? Next time we need to make sure its light and heavily plated...engineer that one. Silly scientists
Yes, there have been failures in the space program, yes, there are failures in all areas of life. After recently viewing the latest batch of Hubble photos ( which by the way were first I have seen since all that hubble failure talk a few years ago) I was completely amazed and astounded. Pointing the camera at one of the tiniest patches of completely black sky in our heavens, at maximum zoom ( they call it the fringes of the universe) We see literally hundreds of galaxies. All different shapes colors and sizes. Our lives are short and for the most part pointless, with the magnificent splender of an entire, seemingly endless universe ( If any of us can possibly imagine that) and the wonder of where we fit in amongst the heavens in our tiny aquarium like planet, we strive to find meaning and order amongst chaos. It is our last hope as humans to gleen some small fraction of the puzzle ( if one exists) in our lifetimes. The rest we leave to those that follow. Is there life out there? A joke more than a question. Of course there is, no doubt, look at the photos.
