    Its physically located under the battery, and its covered by a sticker with a warning on it. The sticker on the one I saw you had to cut through to actually insert a card, there was a prominent warning on it, and it mentioned voiding your warranty.

    That's the display department. Beware of the leopard.

    The slot is not designed for convenient insertion/removal.

    If that statement were true of my girlfriend, I'd trade her in for a functional model. Same with my phone.

    It may be an SD card but in this case it is the equivalent to prying a chip off the board and replacing it with your own and being pissed that it didn't work.

    Some slashdotters are actually at the level of mastery where this would be an appropriate response.

    Piercing together speculation from various other comments, the leading theory seems to be that it's the result of a dispute between phone manufacturers (Who want removeable media supported) and Microsoft (Who really, really don't).

    Some other posters said something about manufacturing cheapness. Like, the patterns to make a phone with an SD card slot are standard and already available, but they would have to re-design it (and re-tool all their assembly lines) to incorporate more hard-wired internal storage where the SD card slot would go, incurring unnecessary expense. I have no idea if that's true or not.

    The S in SD means "Secure" which is an acronym for DRM ...

    May I respectfully suggest that you acquire a dictionary and use it to find out what everyone else in the world means when they say "acronym"?

    Acronym is just a homonym for euphemism.

    If that's true, then I think acronyms are against my religion.

    It also required an SD card that is certified as Windows Phone 7 complaint. Currently no such cards exist.

    Maybe not, but this post is certified as spelling complaint.

    Yeah, the replies saying "That's not space!!" are always correct, it's just funny to see them over and over. It's almost like the /. editors post these things on purpose just to get readers' goats.

    When I first read that headline, I thought, "Impossible!" Then it gradually dawned on me that they meant the near edge of space. As in the boundary of our atmosphere. Not the far edge of space, as in the boundary of the universe.

    Here in the US, we call all the people in your neighborhood "neighbors", including those across the street, down the block, and around the corner. The distinction of 664 and 668 is that they are next-door neighbors of the beast. Presumably, the beast has a larger neighborhood than just those two.

    Which I suppose makes the question relevant, "Is the Antichrist British or American?"

    Not sure how it works in the US but on most streets over here (UK), 664 and 668 are the neighbours of the beast while 667 is normally on the opposite side of the road.

    Not really. There's not really a slippery slope between saying "murderers shouldn't criticize murderers" and saying "litterers shouldn't criticize murderers". Those are fundamentally different statements. If I said Stalin didn't have the moral authority to criticize Middle Eastern human rights abuses, would you call me an idiot for that? Would you infer that if Stalin doesn't have moral authority, neither does Mother Teresa? Who's the real idiot if you're making that inference?

    This is in mass reply to all those people saying "She said we can't criticize stoning! Therefore he's playing a clever joke!" This is simply not true. She said Politicians who voted for the Iraq war have no moral authority to criticize stoning by other countries. She specifically said that human rights organizations as well as politicians who opposed the war and private citizens can and should criticize stoning in the Muslim world. Check out this starting around 53 minutes to see what she really said.

    the impetus for his comment was Yasmin Alibhai-Brown said that politicians have no moral authority to criticize human rights abuses if they voted for the war in Iraq (conversely, she directly says UK politicians who didn't vote for the war in Iraq can criticize human rights abuses).

    I don't see what's wrong with her position. People who participated in planning/authorizing mass murder have no right to criticize stoning? Sounds good to me!

    Unless someone reading that twitter post is a complete dullard, they would be able to deduce that he did not actually intend to incite violence against this woman.

    If that's your argument, I'm afraid I have to point out we're talking about a publicly available post on the Internet. The Internet. And you find it far-fetched to think that dullards would read that post? You must be new here.

    Right. Ever seen _My Cousin Vinnie_? The sheriff accuses Ralph Macchio's character of shooting a convenience store clerk. He replies, in an incredulous tone: "I shot the clerk". The sheriff later introduces this in court as a confession. That's about what you're doing here. Reading a public posting of "Crap! Robin Hood airport is closed. You've got a week and a bit to get your shit together otherwise I'm blowing the airport sky high!!" as a serious threat requires deliberate misunderstanding.

    Maybe he just missed the incredulous tone in that twitter post.

    Note that the tweet in question was sent as a reply - these usually don't show up in your timeline. The airport lickspittle went out of his way to find it by doing a search for "Robin Hood airport" and was shocked - shocked! - to discover it.

    Wait...that's the name of an actual airport? This joke gets funnier all the time!
