I never said it was going to be easy (otherwise everyone would already be doing it), but if you want it to be more popular, useful (for more than yoda figurines) and pay for itself quicker, then doubling the build area is going to go a lot further than halving the price. I'm quite interested in le big rep http://reprap.org/wiki/LeBigRep just waiting on the guy to do a bit more of the leg work.

I know you can join parts together but you lose some of the advantages of 3d printing; that being ease of construction for both the finished product and in the design, also it'll make it heavier (or weaker) because the internal structure cant be as elegant. I'm happy paying $2000 (or higher) but give me one that can print 1x1x1 meters (or higher).

You can build a reprap for a couple of hundred dollars, but how many sets of curtain rings and crappy iphone cases do you need per year? I think we need bigger build areas, that will open more bigger options (which usually cost more and have higher shipping costs). If you can print coat hangers, coffee tables, rc planes, and a replacement stand for my floor fan I'm going to be a lot more interested (yes i know you can print bigger things by doing it in parts, but it's a lot more hassle and not as strong).

Of course if i was a billion dollar defence contractor working on top secret weapon designs for the US, or a Chinese citizen, i might have a different view point.

Anyone remotely interested in a tablet with the funds to buy one, probably already has one (ipad or nexus7 or something). So the question isn't which one would you buy, It's would you upgrade to a windows tablet, sell/giveaway your ipad or whatever, buy a bunch of new apps, figure out a new system, and be able to explain your purchase to your friends and coworkers that all bought xtablet for xreason, all while it's not even able to do what windows is famous for? For the people that don't have tablets they are just as hard to satisfy (otherwise one of the thousands of models out there would of made it into their hands). That is why the surface is netbook/tablet hybrid and it's got every port under the sun, and why only the surface pro versions have any sales.

I use windows 7 because i like it... (ducks to avoid thrown wireless keyboard)... It runs all my programs and games (even pirated copies) and all kinds of obscure shit that comes in real handy, doesn't really look that bad, gives you almost all of the control you want, so many very handy shortcuts. I also have linux mint on here which isn't half bad, but i wouldn't say that it's better than windows, i can't stand OSX, and i thought chrome OS was a Google April fools joke.

Those customers that are left, aren't stupid enough to buy a windows computer that can't run all the x86 programs they usually have? Microsoft on the other hand have to be idiots for not seeing that coming. More megapixels means you can take the picture now and zoom in latter, it also allows for much better touching up because you can access pixels that just aren’t there in other phones, as well as good low light performance like you mentioned. Due to the optical image stabilization, time to lock and focus is not as much of a deal breaker because it takes out all the little movements that happen in that time. Images will look noticeably better with this camera, and 6 times optical zoom means you can make photos look even better (for a face you want to stand back and use all your zoom because it minimizes feature, for a car or something you want to get nice a close shot with no zoom, because it accentuates the features) and all kind of manual options for cool exposer shots and what not. If your not in to photography and just want to take self shots of your self with beer in your hand you probably wont care, but if you like your dslr but hate dragging it around this will make a very nice fit.
