In this case it is TechFreep which is the unreliable source. Notice that the original article doesnt mention the 100 day thing and also is actually from Feb 2006. They even used the same photo.
Looks to me like TechFreep doesn't deserve to be slashdotted. The article they are referring to was last updated on 2006-02-06! Which also means TechFreep edited the story considerably to add mention of recent dates. They even used the same Febuary photo. Therefore I would not be trusting any information from this source.
Nah, he didn't screw up the maths. The "($/MHz)" is the units. The cost per MHz unit.
And the slashdot sidebar in mozilla is great

I've been running the nightlies, submitting bugs etc for 5 months and it's great to see the progress of the mozilla project.
Today's build is purring nicely. I don't mind the slow startup issue. I have it opening on startup and I leave it open.
And the sidebar... I originally thought it had no use and just took up webpage viewing area but that's all changed today. I added the slashdot sidebar!!
I like the classic look too but the problem is it's platform specific. At the moment it is only being released with the Windows version I believe. If you check in the.CSS files you'll see lines like: background-color : threedface; color : windowtext; I wonder how other platforms handle this. Do you know about the chromezone? This is where other skins can be found but there one none that work above M16 yet. We need more chrome developers.
86% of users may use IE but what percentage of HTML programmers use it? I've always avoided browser specific tags and I would hope that everyone else does too.
Giant alarm clock? I must have forgotten more than I thought.
I expected to find a website somewhere dedicated to that great cartoon but I couldn't find much except that Sport Billy was the mascot for a FIFA World cup and the cartoon grew out of that. I thought that the cartoon came first.
Does anyone else believe that the children of today are missing out on some great cartoons?
I don't know why they watch the Japanese style cartoons like Pokemon etc... I can't stand them.
I was brought up with Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and the rest of the Disney crew. Ageless classics which are still enjoyable to watch today. Another of my favourites was Sport Billy. I don't know anyone who remembers this one. He was a boy who carried a briefcase of miniature sporting equipment which could be enlarged to full size whenever the situation required. Any/.ers remember it?
Mozilla is doing the right thing making the browser so customizable. You have probably noticed that already in the replies to this message there have been a number of poeple asking for specific browser UI options and now it's a simple thing to do.
I want to maximise my viewable content area so I'm starting development of my own package... it will only have the essential buttons, (back, forward, reload, load images), and the URL. I will design it to use the empty space in the menu bar. Does this sound like your type of UI? Let me know.
Ummm, what else... well I guess whatever I want I can have. Thanks Mozilla.
Metacreations is entering a very competitive, but under utilised, area. There are lots of applications of good, fast, interactive 3d models for the web. Have you heard of Cult3D by Cycore?? Lets you play with an interactive Palm VII, Nokia Communicator with sms from the model and heaps more.
I've been using VRML in the past but it is far less suitable for these applications. Metacreations one is good too but they don't have the customer base of the Cult3d yet, but if they continue with their usual excellence of software and innovative gui's then we should see something great soon.

The customer, (the main reason for 3D), likes the neat tricks and gee whiz of these models and that's what sells the products.
Excellent point that it shouldn't be their whole business.
