    Out of curiosity (and no I'm not trying to be snarky but actually curious) what sorts of experiments are people looking to carry out in 5 minutes of free fall? Doesn't seem like a lot of time.

    How much time do you really for Zero-G sex, porn to make millions and promote Zero-G experimentation? Imagination is as limitless as space itself.

    The point is that if the DOJ, or any group says "Comcast is not permitted to block Netflix" it implies that Comcast can block things. That is very important.

    Exactly, the real question is: How does the RIAA and the MPAA feel about this issue.

    Actually, I'm going to go with the "big-time pop/rock star" ending (drug overdose) for Gaddafi. He seems to be on something most of the time he speaks, so an OD wouldn't be too far fetched.

    Considering all of the US's "allies", I expect this country to bite the hand that fed Qaddafi. Where;s Cheney lauding his friends now?
    Can't wait until Saudi Arabia turns considering all the payoffs to the "royal" family.

    The L4 and L5 points are actually stable equilibria, meaning that a body a very short distance away from the L-point will circle it. I would guess instability is more likely to come from effects like orbits being not perfectly planar and circular, and perturbations from other bodies in the system, rather than from being not quite on the L-point.

    Although the Lagrange points are probably the more accurate explanation, (I am not a scientist, but I play one on TV), I believe the Searle effect better illustrates what happens when two or more bodies occupy the same orbit. Ergo, the planets/-oids cannot possibly crash into each other.

    I'm from the US and I'd like to take this opportunity to remind you that France financed the American Revolution.

    Near the end. Mostly it was financed by people who would eventually profit by financing both sides, just like all wars before and after.

    That’s still long enough to cause its subjects to vaporize , but that doesn’t happen until after their pictures have been snapped.

    So that means that the TSA will not be using hard X-rays . . . um, doesn't it?

    .There's nothing like re-inventing the wheel. Royal R. Rife invented a non-lethal microscope way back in the 30's. However, just like Tesla, Farnsworth, Reich; Rife was ostracized by the peer community (read the corrupt medical and pharmaceutical organizations).

    The executive director of the engineers licensing board disagrees. I suspect it will end up coming down to what a judge thinks.

    As if a judge is qualified to make engineering decisions.

    The real problem here is, the PE in question is now liable if he fails to properly investigate and refute the report. Its an ego play because he doesn't want to be in a position where he's beholden to the public for failing to do his job.

    that was the YF-2, a weaponized version of the SR-71. Really, it was a fighter/interceptor, not a bomber.

    I used to have a conceptual art poster of it from Lockheed.

    What is aYF2? Do you mean the SR-71 forerunner, YF-12A ? The SR was never weapon-ized. It did, however, carry an . unmanned reconnaissance vehicle.
    The initial flight dynamics testing was performed in the 10 x 10 SWTat NASA Lewis Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio back in the mid 50's. One note that is not really explained is that it has no top end, only operational limits. This is still the fastest non-orbital craft ever. It will continue to increase its speed to engine failure.

    Exactly, it's bad enough that the drivers are yaking and texting, now you want the cars to do the same? Who is going to mind the road?
    What about the integrity of the programming? One asshat with a grudge against the big three can cause some real issues. What about foreign made vehicles? What type of standardization will there be?
    I thought the idea was to make driving easier not more complicated. May the power that is help the one who has a Dell system.
