  1. I do find it odd on How the Web's Relationship With Anonymity Has Changed · · Score: 1

That someone online only masking their IP address is "anonymous" and yet they use their real name.. or don't even need to hide it. And yet my Grandma doesn't have a computer or IP address and isn't "anonymous" but just keeps to herself. If someone is online and keeps to themselves but as well doesn't go out much.. they are anonymous?? That's a little stupid.. I don't mean the people that cause problems.. authors had pennames before that.

  2. Common sense on The Rules of Thumb For Tech Purchasing · · Score: 1

You could buy the most expensive computer but the trade off of power to cpu is pointless with most games... Usually would just buy a good solid mainboard, good ram 4 gig is enough for most things and an entry level graphics card that's good enough to enter into the 3d vision range; cheap enough now days.. You don't have to do much after that other then a 2 or 4 core processor until they come down in price. My Dad purchased a quad core and he only uses it for browsing the web, emails and writing documents.. a waste to tell the truth.. he could have gone for the same mobo and a cheaper cpu. I could have just given them my older amd FX-55 with 3 Gig of ram and he wouldn't notice much difference with most apps. You know what sales people are like.. they would sell the top bollocks computer system to someone who only wants to browse the net if they could.

Would be nice to have a standard design for Aeroponics or similar setup that scales. 6 to 7 times better output then standard gardening.. Maybe something like this design http://viewer.zoho.com/api/urlview.do?url=http://www.synergyii.com/aeroponic/VAP.pdf Vertical farming also.. This design uses the red & blue led lights but for some reason didn't use aeroponics or hydroponics... just that mud stuff ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ct3dK2_ksvk

HL2 Series are sure one of my all time Favourites. Not tried the other two but will add them to my list. The new Crysis will probably set this old box on fire.. Hopefully will have upgraded by the time that one is out. I would move to PS3 but I'm still waiting for full (not glitchy) mouse & keyboard support, it's the only drawback with an FPS. Thanks.

I think it was the added additions of the suite, I like stealth games and if you were good at it you could even complete most the map without killing anyone. I just liked that challenge, Stealth is missing in a lot of games. The Aliens was very odd, but then again I expected the game to end at the Alien Mothership front door which later turned out to be no where near the end. Metal Gear Solid on the other hand is another people either love or hate, I thought the way they did it all movie style was incredible but still not played the latest. The First Hitman & the other game with Sam Fisher were also very cool stealth games. For atmosphere Crysis certainly did a lot with the graphics though rather then be the run of the mill shooter.

  6. Crysis 1 & Crysis Warhead on Have I Lost My Gaming Mojo? · · Score: 1

I remember playing the Demo of Crysis and my gaming machine couldn't handle it at all back in 2007. Now that it's 2010 I purchased the game and still my machine can not handle the highest settings but I found the game one of the best first person shooters I've played in a long time.. It even beat F.E.A.R 1 & 2 when it came to the graphics & special effects. Interesting plot, if you crawl or walk with your gunsite up then the invisibility enables lots of stealth play or if you prefer you can just level everything (even cut down trees, houses) I still think that if you could play Crysis on all the highest settings it would beat any FPS that's been released this year and a few years back.. I can play everything at medium without much issue so it's not that bad. Currently playing the second one Crysis Warhead and not bad so far.

  7. Or SSL encrypt more websites on Sophos Researcher Suggests Password 'Free' to Spur Wi-Fi Encryption · · Score: 1

I know they is an overhead to small devices being forced into using SSL but wouldn't WPA2 cause the same sort of overhead? I prefer to just connect then use a VPN as they are loads of them around but it is true that your going to need a bigger passphrase then just "Free" due to the limit.. If people used the firefox plugin that forces SSL from EFF.org.. https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2010/06/encrypt-web-https-everywhere-firefox-extension then most the top sites would be more secure but of course problems will still occur.. Last option freeradius but again could be a config nightmare. Personally I would promote SSL or just get people used to a VPN provider... Open Wireless in the UK like BTFON or BTOpenZone do give the user the option of free VPN software.. traced the VPN server to somewhere in London but it was very slow last time I tried it. Here... http://www.btopenzone.com/help/security/vpn-software.jsp I agree the solution needs to be tackled by the FreeWireless supplier more so then the end user.
