MUHAHA!! now that i have accomplished this feat once, i do hereby solemnly vow to never try again. There is a first and a last time for everything, and this is both.

    Ok, so i missed first...

Let me get this right, they don't want any links to their copyrighted content without their express written permission? Their main page is copyrighted!! They don't want anyone to link to them? think .oO(less links, less traffic, less banner clicks) Some people really need to think before they act.....

  3. lemme see a console do this....... on Game Consoles Expected to Tromp PCs · · Score: 1

Show me the console that has the latest hardware every 6 months.
These things are great when they come out, but by the time they're a few years old they suck. Some do have minor upgradeability, but nothing like the PC. (the N64 is upgradeable from 4 meg to 8 meg if I am correct, try to run Q3arena on THAT!!)
I own a N64 and regret buying it, i barely ever use it anymore because the graphics are horrible. Sure in a few years they'll have the playstation2 and the nintendo 128 or something, and initially, they may be better graphics/speed than a PC, but the PC market evolves too quickly for the console manufacturers to keep up.

Don't get me wrong, consoles have their advantages, ease of use being the biggest one, but my N64 may soon be on ebay to pay for my new tnt2 card.....

  4. How to make this useful.... on Inexpensive 11megabit Wireless LAN · · Score: 1

Not that i really have a clue of what i'm talking about, but, I don't suppose these base stations could talk to each other, and just plug a nic into the RJ-45 jack... and then pop off the pretty plasic case and add leads to a television antenna and suddenly have cheap wireless with some decent range for the neighborhood LAN? You buy a T1 and have all of the neighbors help pay? I like that..... Just speculation.... It probably wouldn't be too hard for those Lucent engineers to get something like that working....

    Just a Thought.....

Who needs the FCC anyway?? ;)

  6. Blaming _GAMES_ is bullshit on The Public & The Internet: Open Forum · · Score: 1

to defend the video games, I personally would have to say that if anything, a game of half-life or other such game is rather calming when I am frusterated and angry. If anything i would think that these games lessen the urge to commit such an act of violence. There's nothing like killing a few marines, or aliens when you're frusterated...

paintball is growing in popularity in my area, and as far as i know, no one has attributed it to kids killing kids. (for those who are unfamiliar with painball, you shoot your opponent with a gun that fires small plastic balls filled with paint, if you are hit, you are out of the game.. ) this is far more similar to killing people, yet it's not seen as a problem, nor do i want it to be. why this scrutiny towards computer games? Is it the fear of the unknown for those who don't like video games?

    On a lighter note?
Has anyone noticed that these killings tend to happen in school cafeterias? Maybe it's the food that drives kids to killing... I remember high school cafeteria food, and i eat dorm food daily...

Now if you'll excuse me, i'm going to play half-life deathmatch with my friends and the lunch lady....
