what with slick Willie selling out to the chinese , then to the indoneasians, then to the europeons , why it does my heart go to see him sell out to the americans, it's about time he keep some of that bribe money at home. As for the legal opinion of the Justice Dept. - they've been such a stellar example in the past , this ought to be a high water mark for them , it also makes me question your judgement, you might want to make an appointment to have that rectal inversion checked out.

And exactly why did NeXT sell to Apple? Who owned NeXT then and who authorized the purchase of NeXT at Apple? My,My it sems to have been the same person. As to why Apple threatens to sues is because its free publicity, everybody starts talking about it (as shown on these pages and elsewhere) and they don't have to pay for the ad fees.

With the most popular shows on TV (survivor,Big Brother)telling everyone that it is not only OK to spy on people and invade their privacy but is an enjoyable pasttime, there is little doubt as to how easy it is to lose personnal rights. My father had more rights than me , I have more rights than my children, it is a steady battle of attrition till all people of the world are under one political entity and we all have the same rights-none.

This argument has one major fallacy, if you do not reside in a country , swear allegence to that country ,or volentarily(?) submit to their rules, laws and regulations of that country , why should you be compelled to force that country's beliefs on others? To expect others to bend to your will just because you decree it , is well..typically french .

I may be wrong , but I see a few problems with this, 1.)Bandwideth, we are at the point of an almost shooting war over existing availibility, 2.) and as stated earlier, what is to stop the new one turning into a clone of the previous? I don't have the solutions , but see a certain inevitibility to the whole scheme. dch111

If it happened, I doubt if more than a handfull of employees would move , with the networking capibilities availible. I went into the Biz. out of college, in the Engr. end. Ended up with a nice resume, worked for all the biggies, and the one think that became apparent was if you were with a comp. for 2 years , you were a "long-term Employee", the way to get ahead was start sending out resumes the day after you got a new job.You always got a pay raise and they would offer you all the newest projects. If stayed where you were at , management felt you were either:a.) lazy and unproductive b.) lacked initative or c:)(God forbid)"NOT A TEAM PLAYER!" this was the kiss of death and meant you would have to run off to the boonies to get a job , when the word got out. Never regreted dumping the whole thing and moving back to the swamps.
