its not about Napster's (or anyone's) views on sharing MP3's. the problem with shutting them down is that its causing a -network- to become illegal. the internet is based on file sharing. if this is allowed to happen, what next? ftp? irc? how about we just pass a law that blocks every port except for 80?? of course thats only if its an 'acceptable' website, judged by the government... Napster has not broken any laws. they merely set up a network, much like IRC. They should not be responsible for what people use it for. **vote for your rights** www.lp.org
newtek's lightwave6 uses opengl for most of the gui, so it shouldnt be a problem. i dont think it would require changing any of the actual code, so it would be much easier to do than porting to alpha nt. i guess i'll have to say something while i'm at siggraph...
remember you don't have to choose between two bad parties; there are others. its not a wasted vote.

..which is why films are shown at 24fps.. but monitors are different. they dont show full frames at once, instead, its a single line that moves down the screen. so if you had a monitor at 30hz there would be really bad flickering, and imo its even noticeable up to around 70hz.
