Here's mine in a nutshell, which I consider to be essentially American (although not exclusively) and superior to all other belief systems: Individual freedom and responsibility good, everything else, bad. That is for me and IMO should be for everyone (American or otherwise) the Prime F'n Directive. If you buy into that, I trust you even if you have other ideas I think are stupid. If you don't buy into that, I think you have bad software running in your head (probably fueled by "good intentions"), and I don't want you making decisions for me, or to have any power whatsoever.
The reasons why this "BS" is superior to other "BS"s are many, but here are a couple of highlights:
1. Produces best outcomes - smart, motivated, empowered individuals create wealth and drive progress better than Ministries of Fuckery.
2. Prevents tyranny - there is no path to tyrannical Ministries of Fuckery if this "BS" truly prevails.

Bad idea to mod an existing game. Better to use Unity or Torque, Blender for modelling and animation. You don't need monsters and puzzles, you need CONTENT. I have no karma, so I'll link to my own game dev blog. Give me 250k, I could build an immersive 3D multiplayer shakespeare world that plays right in your browser. Academics are rightly intrigued by the possibilities of virtual worlds, but need to realize that it's much harder to develop that kind of content. More importantly, the market provides a context in which individual and group competition can occur that is mutually beneficial, rather than destructive - it allows for non-zero-sumness, which makes all the difference. Now, you may say that competition is itself a wasteful thing that humanity should outgrow, in our grand march of Progress. But that would be you whitewashing the world with soft good intentions. The best we can hope for out of most people is that they act out of rational self-interest. That is not spin, child, it is reality.
Sadly, many voters have the attitude: what is the government going to do for me? How much free shit can I score? Most people will act out of rational self-interest, and when you can get some free shit, it's only rational to line up and get some.
Others vote for impossibilities: I want universal peace and love and understanding! I want free health care! Blah, blah. You may be "informed" but still attached to a naive, incorrect worldview. You can be "informed" and still be an idiot. When people insist on the impossible, what they get is the disastrous.
