"No, he's saying you would be an intelligent, well educated individual if you didn't make broad generalizations like "they" want to take away your freedoms."

When "they" are devout Muslims, that is precisely what they are commanded to do as a collateral effect of establishing a Muslim state. Islam demands submission, it does not preach freedom, end of fucking story. Anyone asserting otherwise is either malicious or delusional.

Go visit Muslim lands, and note that the more devout, the less "free" (in the Western, secular sense) they are.

Been there (on friendly terms, I have social skills and get on smoothly, (ask me about my canned fake anti-Zionism rant), done that, still have some of the T-shirts. Islam and personal freedom don't go together. The best effort to play that game was by a gentleman named Ataturk, and it requires a secular military willing to kill local Jihadists to make it barely work. The jury is out on how long that will last.

That wouldn't be worse, in terms of the long-term cultural struggle. Islam is Pan-Arabist at the core, which is an ETHNIC distinction (not everything is RACE, kids! Know the difference!) It is an ethnic and cultural war machine, as are most religions. Choose a side, there is no opt-out.

Before modern PC beliefs, it should be noted that great (in the sense of "large", not "glorious") struggles entail awkward methods, brutality, and lots of innocent casualties. Further, they cannot be waged any other way. This is unfortunate, but all great (in the sense of "influential", not "glorious") warfighters (Mohammed included!) understood this.

Had "innocent worship" been the over-riding concern, the Allies would not have won WWII. There is a time to take sides, and slay the other side until you win, because they are not more important than victory. If they are, kill yourself instead and save everyone else the bother.

Islam is such a durable religion because it uses effective methods to take and hold power. They route around tolerance the way Hitler routed around Weimar democracy (not all Nazi analogies are flawed).

Muslims don't belong in the US, and since the law won't solve the problem individual initiatives take place. If Islam is the truth, there should be no need for Muslims to degrade themselves by living here. Move to Saudi Arabia, etc, and wallow instead of trying to spread contagion here.

They need to GTFO back to their desert. I've been there and have seen the inevitable end result of Islam. It would be worth genocide if necessary to contain it. Islam is an implacable enemy of every other belief. The few tolerant Muslims are accessories and don't matter, nor do the utterly delusional variety that play ball with our side.

Playing by the rules that the enemy has already completely exploited is not more important than cultural self-defense.

WHY should anyone respect superstition? I don't.

The thing to do is prepare for war while pretending something else, build alliances with modern, logical governments (China, etc) and wait for opportunity. Agitate against Islam as you would any other toxic nonsense, and rely on the Jihadists to react badly. RELIGIONISTS CAN BE MANIPULATED BY THE DICTATES OF THEIR SUPERSTITION. When you haven't ruthlessly focused your education on acquiring a variety of JOB skills that, along with hobbies that help make you employable, expect not to be employed. Your elders made the mistake of telling you is "do your own thing" without warning you that choices have consequences. Your school, like many, may have been more focused on SELLING a degree than fitting clients for work.

    What did you study?

I took my lessons from MY elders, the Depression babies who had to scrabble. Life is a shit sandwich, and the more bread you have the less shit you taste. Education is for making MONEY, because without MONEY, you have fewer choices. Hobbies and recreational education are for fun, but don't typically pay the rent. If you can't get a job that fits your education, do any damn thing you have to. Consider skilled trades (I've never met a mechanic who couldn't make a living) instead of pushing paper. (Come to think of it, that's one area where some of your elders screwed you by discouraging manual labor. Mechanics and weldors, for example, can make serious money and are highly mobile.)

Unique and special snowflakes may disregard the above advice, but they are either employed or don't need to be.

The military participation thing is not only historically "normal", but considered to be self-sacrifice (the marketing of particular wars IS a separate issue!).

Kids today are understanding that it makes sense to cover your own ass. Being an empathetic emo doesn't do that, and never did. Some of us are ancient enough to remember times before universal emophilia (hey, I coined a word!) and aren't nostalgic FOR emophilia. In tough times, get tough.
