Where is this Oregon Cost? Having been raised in Oregon, I remember quite well the Oregon Coast, but perhaps the Oregon Cost would be a better place to be? Or maybe you're referring to the higher price of gasoline because we are forbidden to pump our own?
Yes, lots of machines do modeling and analysis well. The problem is that the questions the analysts are most interested in require more and more computing resources. When someone is testing a nuclear weapons simulation, with over 100 million degrees of freedom, it can take the entire resources of a Cplant or ASCI Red machine a couple of days just for the first seconds of the event. Speaking from my experience, I've never heard of any of the processing power of either the Cplant or ASCI Red machine being used for something as mundane and non-engineering-related as cracking codes to see if Aunt Bessie thinks that Communist men are cuter than Democratic men. These people have much more fun things to do.
"we are one of only two species on Earth that have sex for enjoyment,"
That's a load of garbage. You can't tell me that all those animals out there are thinking about procreation to perpetuate the species. Humans are probably the ONLY species that occasionally has sex for reasons other than pleasure. Penguins don't stop and think "Gee, it is probably time to do my part to contribute to the overall penguin population." Please people, let's turn our brains on occasionally.
I'm pretty sure that sharkyextreme has the name wrong. I'm about 99% sure that the name they're trying to spell is Tualatin (a city in Oregon) rather than Tulatin (nothing pertinent). Since Intel is based in Oregon, it would make sense, and would also continue their choosing of Pacific Northwest names (Klamath, Willamette etc).
I must say that Raleel has it correct. I work for a DOE lab and the most memory we have in one of our machines is 2Gig, and it's not enough. We do finite element mesh generation, and the 100,000,000 element range requires more than 2Gig. I work on a Dec DS20, with 1Gig, and we're actively looking into upgrading it to its maximum of 4 Gig just so we can do at least part of these huge problems.

The potential for a rouge nation to
I'm just curious as to what a "rouge nation" is, one entirely ruled by cosmetics salesladies?

Why are we doing this on Presidents' Day?
