The fact China is a dictatorship (one party only) doesn't mean it is a totalitarian state such as Causescu's Romania or North Korea. Chine was indeed totalitarian during cultural revolution but not anymore. Thus, the people of China, even subjected to censorship and 'official propaganda' have an opinion and can express it. There are several examples where the internet crowd probably changed some rulings.

How many of them are really shocked about what 'really' happened in 89 and then decide to not return to China afterwards ?
