It's OK for normal people to say "weight", because, after all the word "weight" has been in the English language for a long, long time, from before people started doing scientific experiments.
Scientists took the English word "weight" and assigned it a specific meaning for their own purposes. But it has that meaning only in their own language (jargon).
If I were an employer, I'd love to pay for investments in my employees (education, training, etc.). The one thing I would ask in return is that they stay with the company in order to preserve institutional knowledge. Making an investment so a competitor can benefit would be horrible.
Maybe the answer is long term (8 yrs) contracts like the Army has.
What prevents him from simply getting a BSc and leaving for another company with more pay?
Also, it's somewhat strange that the company should make an investment in his level of education, and yet the return will go to him (I'm sure he would expect a higher salary).
Just right click on the Chromium launcher in the Unity dash. It has these options: -Open a new window -Open a new incognito window (shares cookies among all incog sessions) -Open a new window with a temporary profile (this is what you want)
Well, it's not as if there's no encryption whatsoever on Linux right now. You may already know this, but Ubuntu 12.04 offers home seamless directory encryption upon install.
That's mostly where "the good stuff" resides anyway. There's probably not much of interest on/usr/bin that isn't available on ubuntu.com.
Also, it's pretty easy to (graphically) set up an encrypted partition with Palimpsest (disk tool).
Something's really fishy here. I mean most third world countries simply do not care if you're making copies of Hollywood movies without written permission from someone with Esq. after his name.
Someone (MAFIAA) must have leaned on the US Ambassador to Gabon to, ahem, facilitate something or another.
If anybody disagrees, please tell me what's in it for Gabon to ban me.ga, preemptively even ?
The former not the latter. I'd say you have every right to run whatever you want on a device you bought (or your company bought, if it lets you run ssh, which it probably would).
However, there are plenty of iOS and Android SSH apps, so again, the question remains.
The problem is they aren't necessarily going to pay cash. They like to give you a bunch of stock options, restricted so that you'll have to work for them for 5 years for the stock to vest.
Meanwhile Facebook stock is going down, down, down.
>the DMCA is a TAKEDOWN notice, not a delete evidence notice.
Um, so if you get a DMCA notice, you can simply remove web access to a file, and leave the file on your servers? And that's not an illegal copy?
Of course there are no communications between the US govt. and Megaupload: The govt. contacted the webhost and not Mega.
>And naturally with all such modern things it has a web interface so we can quickly log in from anywhere
Yeah, you, and any old hacker, too.
What was the normal percentage of desired reduction?
Wait, so that also means that a company is prohibited from writing their own accounting system. Unless you're Big Corp.
Scary future.
If that's the case, what's the tax dept. worried about?
I don't think it's "always". It depends on the rate.
10% is OK. (That's "all that God asks" for, if you go by the tradition of tithing.)
20%, you sort of start to have some concern.
30% is a whole lot. A third of your income.
50%, you're working halftime for yourself, and half for the State.
Above 50%, and you're definitely a serf. You're the slave, and the State is the master.

Metric woodworking generally uses measurements which allow you to divide easily.
For example, a metric door would be 2100mm x 900mm (82.67" x 35.43" or a little less than 7' x 3').
You can divide both 2100 and 900 easily into halves, fourths, thirds, sixths, and twelfths. (2100/12 = 175, 900/2 = 75)
Metric panels (plywood, etc., drywall) are generally 1200mm (a little less than 4 feet).

While not wanting to single out the USPS, shouldn't firms in general be required to "fully fund" their employee benefits?
Otherwise, you're basically running a gambling operation and using the peoples pension funds to finance current operations.
No, I'm running Precise Pangolin (12.04). I just installed Chromium from the repositories. I did not customize my dash.
These options are highly useful for web testing (test with a fresh start).

Yeah, those are coming right up (sarc).
The idea of a moratorium is great, seemingly opposed only by people who don't like Issa (who is admittedly anti net neut).
Hey, I'm still living in old times, try /. with Javascript off, you insensitive clod!
If it *is* science, why are there even two words? Outside the field of computers, do you see any difference between engineering and science?
The 12.04 (Precise) version of Unity doesn't crash. What inconsistencies did you have in mind?

This is your cue to comment.

Yeah, I read the summary, but it doesn't mention a raison d'etre.
Basically, it's supposed to be a method for violating your company's IT policies. Got it.
but what's the point?
I.e., is there a need that vi, vim, and gvim don't fill?
Or is the point merely slashvertising?
