  1. Re:The Pirate Bay on Windows Vista & IE7 Beta 1 Released · · Score: -1

In a market where %90 of people use what a monopoly shoves down their blowholes its hard to avoid such a matter. I use 3 Macs, 2 Linux boxen, and a xp machine in my office. The only reason the xp machine is there is because the company that made the original billing software we use went with winblows instead of Mac, Linux, BSD, therefor attempting to FORCE us to spend $300 on a peice of crap OS. I choose to use a pirated copy because im not wasting $300 of my hard earned money that I could spend on a car payment.

Reloading windows on customers machines is a whole different argument. Win98 is out of support. No more security updates. Do you tell the customer, hey you have to spend $300 on the OS, and I charge $50 to load it... And anothyer $400 for Office 2003.. all on a $150 PIII? Heck no. They will just go down the street to your competitor which WILL load a pirated copy costing the customer $65 instead of $750. Pirating software is only Pirating it if you BELIEVE in capitolism. I believe in making a living, putting food on the table, and fairness for everyone. Not living like a rich bufoon who cares only about himself, and his monopoly. Thats what seperates the saved from the damned.

The previous parent speks of charging 50 cents for a bolt and 500 to fix it. I would actually charge 50 cents for the bolt, and $50 to put it on. That sounds pretty damn fair to me. It doesn't matter if it was on a BMW or a 20yr old Chevy. That means repeat customers wether they are rich or poor. Fairness, and equality. Hopefully one day it will return to society, instead of being outsourced like everything else is now.

Ive gotten them both. I have had many problems with this man sending spam to my customers. I actually had to laugh when I saw his sites creeping from being on the front page of Slashdot.

What they are doing is no different from the spammers using viruses accross the net to send their junk. Spoofing their identity, and invalid return address is illegl under the CAN SPAM act. It is also illegal for them to use 'any' type of proxy from what I understand. If I am wrong please correct me on this.

Linux has been here for 10 years. I don't see it going now. Just because VA decides they call it quit doesn't mean Linux will fall as an industry standard.

Micro$hit can try every thing in the world, but they can't stop an operating system such as Linux. Why? Because its the USERS' CHOICE. NOT M$'S. I don't give a rat's ass what your opinion is on M$, or how I address them. I see Ms not staying in the market very well just because of the M$ vs. DOJ case. Micro$oft will be stompped, no question about it.

The consumer does not even KNOW how large Ms is, or what they are up to. Or even what the quality of their product is other than the crashing they recive daily, and the computer shops getting only windows machines to repair.

I belive it is time for the Linux community to rise up, and say 'Hey, we're not taking your shit anymore M$. We refuse to buy your products, and we will inform others of what IS TRULY out there.'
Remember the 60's and early 70's when the African American community rose up and said "We won't take this shit anymore"? That is exactly what the Linux and *BSD communitys need to do. Linux users, and *BSD users may have their differences, opinions, and are on opposite sides of a ship; BUT WE ARE IN THE SAME DAMNED BOAT.

Ive been using Linux for 4 years now, and I have NEVER given into M$. Why the hell should any of you do it now? I don't believe Linus, RMS, or Alan Cox will quit working on it just because 'VA' decides to kick the bucket. There is NO fucking way I will EVER use a M$ product after I experenced: 95, 98, Me, NT4, and NT5. So before you Micro$hit drones try to mod me down remember this. Ive used the same damned things you have, and am ALSO A MCSE, CCNA, and CNA. That means im certified to 'cut your closed-source products down'. :)

Flash works fine on here, I don't have any problems with it. It may run slow on your machine, but it runs as fast as Quake3 (130fps) on here. Too bad winblows can't run Quake3 that fast with a V3.

And you don't have the choice to modify your driver so your fucked.Windows doesn't even have as many drivers as Linux 2.4. No, not even your 2000. Count them. Learn a thing or 2. Windows lacks software, and hardware support. You are digging your own grave by going there. Why not back up your claim with facts instead of shooting into the wind?
