I think that programming can be Art and is depending on how it is done. Someone that creates a piece of code to work towards not only a working program but an elegant design and easily readable code is an artist. while there are others that don't care they go to work pump out some reasonable code that works and care not about the elegance readabilty or simplicity. these are just mere coders. An analogy might be that anyone can take a roller and paint the walls of a house but it takes an artistic talent to make painting of a house.
reading about the product I noticed a very odd thing at least in my opnion. It seems to rely on sending your kids brain information to some internet site. Now I see no reason for this why cant a local protfolio be created, then if you read deeper they sugest and provide to you an online way of keeping track of your kids progress in school etc... seems like alot of information to be giving to some unkown company especialy since I didnt see any privacy statement about the information(but I might have missed that)
I think the question should be changed. The real question should be: do you believe you are more than just chemical reactions? And let me clarify this when you die do you simply stop exisiting or go on. If you stop existing than look all you want for an answer to where the universe has come from you might just find it. If you go on well than there are somethings that just never will be understood.
My personal answer is I go on reasons:
1. things are just to perfect we discover things into infinity.
2. It makes me crazy trying to comprehend what nonexistance would be like:)
qnx is a poor substitute for an OS let me tell you why:
1. drivers? what drivers. Hardware support is poor at best
2. QNX will not let you know how to interact with thier software.
3. it is not Unix it may feel like it at first but is very waterd down.
I think politics will be with us for a very long time. The problem seems to be that its to hard to break the current political machines that our 2 parties hold. Almost all the people I know are going to either not vote or vote for the lesser of 2 evils.
does anyone else rember a M$ project called chrome that was supose to have all this nifty multimedia stuff and I think at one time they said a 3d desktop is this what is left of that or was that directX6?
Ok heres my rant... I see alot about humans destoying the world and killing and such. and the practicality of bring back the tiger ect. I realy think that anything that advances knowledge cant be all bad because knowledge helps us humans evolve socialy which is realy what needs to be done and is what is happening(just look around and look at history people are changing in small numbers but those number grow). and for those of you that say this is against God do you realy think that god would go through and map out these clues to life and create all life with DNA that can be decoded. or is it possible that these things are there to help with our learning and struggle ling to become more after all are we not the children of God. mabey we are to grow up one day? as children do. So anyway I say clone and treat each other with great respect for mabey one day the human race will be evolved to the point where we do not need to harm others to make us feel better and at that time all the knowledge we have will make us great. sorry for the rambleing I do it some times
It's intresting the first thing some one thinks the use of taking control of 2000 computers (a very small number i think) is DDoS attack. What ever happened to simply stealing credit card information or finding those nice cross linked networks that never should be linked in the first place. I mean the artical said something about trying out a network of taken computers presumably this is how they found 2000 infected pcs. but It could be more like 200000 pcs. and those just where note activated(this time). ok im done bableing
I dont get the whole thing piracy has always been around and very accepted. Those who buy albums are going to buy albums those that don't will pirate. so who is looseing? the album that is pirated most likely would not have been bought in the first place(no money lost), now all the pirates friends can be exposed to the music and some of them are album buyers and wala free advertising. I mean is there realy that much scare that napster is going to destroy this balance? I mean come on some people still want the fancy packageing and others like to support the music they listen to. and pirates I mean the realy hard core ones with 10 gigs of mp3s could never have bought that may CDs anyway. anyway BLA BLA BLA
