    How the bloody hell will it know that? Just changing a couple of bytes in a file will completely change the checksum. There's no way of telling what the file _should_ be from the checksum.

    OK, I'll admit I'm not 100% sure about Richard Stallman's personal life, but from what I've heard, I think I can trust /usr/bin/gcc :)

    Before mobiles (ok, cell phones) and pagers were popular in the UK, this system was introduced. You basically bought a handset and a subscription, and it was like a little cell phone.

    However - they couldn't recieve incoming calls, and to make a call you had to stand underneath a "rabbit" sign. These were located in tube stations, gas stations, in town etc.

    Imagine having a cell phone that you could only use inside a phone box! I wonder why they didn't take off? :)

    No - pi is irrational... as far as I know this would be the case for base-n where n is of course an integer.

    I hate this sort of post - what is it about some people and their hatred on mobiles? OK - so I don't really *need* one, but it's *useful*. In the same way that having a car/computer/internet connectin is *useful*.

    If you don't want a mobile (cell phone) cuz you have no one to talk to on it, then just don't!

    I'm not sure where you get the bees from, though.

    Yes, my point being that there is *still* an IMEI to track you against, blocking or no blocking... it's still there in the network and in the logs.

    ... except that when the phones negociate with the AUTH center on the network, they send the IMEI, which is the serial number of the mobile station.

    When people steal phones, they try and re-flash it to change the IMEI, but this is getting more difficult, and probably very difficult on a PCMCIA based dealy.

    Plus, they know where you were when you made the call :)
