Well, its not that difficult, since alot of us have vanity domains, just pull the dns records for said domain, and you pretty much have all the ips, then add a whois lookup and you could be on my doorstep.

But I warn you, before showing up on my doorstep, beware of my killer tabby cat :)

Maybe, maybe not, but I am willing to bet that alot of us have been wronged by MS in one way or another, I cannot tell you how many times there inferior software has caused me pain nd suffering. I did Tech Support for many years, and I know how there crap works very well. I have to admit, there are some products MS owns (but did not write, they liked it, they bought it), that are great (Moto cross madness comes to mind :)

Its there buisness practices that suck, if they cannot corner a market, they buy the software company that wrote it, or they force them out of buisness.

Odds are, once the info is made available from NSI, the other registrars, that can sign up domains are going to start spamming saying something like "Wouldn't you rather reregister with us for a significant discount and blah blah blah".

This is totally unacceptable, and If I ever get one at the tech contact for my domain, I will personally go after whomever did the spamming.
And I will gladly type "shut" on there interface.

Maybe I should trip over the power cable that supplies power to the router the NSI is on :)

I use linux because its a hell of alot more stable then microsoft products. When a problem is found its fixed in little to no time. And its fast, I don't have to worry about something crashing on me all the time which windows and all other MS products do.

  8. Okay, what not to do. on Porn Spam using Slashdot.org name · · Score: 2

After looking at the site in question, a slashdot effect would not help any, as the person who sent the spam is trying to get people to click on the links. For every link that you (everyone in general) click, he gets a small amount of cash through "click through" type services. There is no easy way to deal with these types of idiots. Unless the owners of /. are willing to sue, the idiot can go on using the slashdot.org domain forgeries in the headers. (atleast until certain laws become official, however long that will take).

That is where you are wrong. The mp3 format is extremely usefull. I have about 3 gigs of Mp3's, all legal, none of them downloaded. I turned half of my CD collection into mp3's for a couple of reasons. I don't have to swap CD's all the time, I can select a random mix, and most of all, I can stream them to work and listen to them here without dragging 50 CD's around all the time. I'm not likely to buy mp3's, as I would just as well buy the CD to support the artists, but the mp3 format is here to stay, no matter what anyone tries to do with it

Information is only as good as the sources that provide it, and if those sources are goverernment run, they are generally propaganda based.
