Indeed some packages are missing, like orarun and LDAP server support in YaST.you can't find those on opensuse.

You should read Oracle's free e-book entitledOracle 10 day DBA. Every major release of Oracle has a version. It is a very good starting point.
Any soul here knows how to import the cacert.crt from the users logon script ? That would at least solve the issue from within an organization.
I use it flawlessy for a few weeks now. A few lines are pushed down in the source, but that doesn't hurd. I recommend it. I apply first xfs then preempt patch.
