  1. Possible Alternative on ACLU And Libraries Challenge CIPA · · Score: 2

Anyone can go in the censored room.

To get into the uncensored room a person must have a photo id that indicates that they are old enough to drink. Subsidize the library with a bar in the uncensored room.

The only problem to be overcome is beer spills in the keyboards.

  6. Could be another attempt at censorship on Busting Microsoft's Patent On Web-Polls? · · Score: 4

Microsoft is obviously holding this patent in reserve for the next time the results of a poll don't favor Microsoft.

    CP/M 20%
    Linux 50%
    xxxBSD 50%
    Cowboy Neal 75%

Microsoft could have the poll removed because it infringed on their patent.

In this article in The Register It is mentioned that this is a one time registration. The OS is not going to regularly phone home to check the registration.

Once a cracker has gotten access to your Hard Disk he/she could probably change the registry to indicate that the product was unregistered, however, del *.* would save time. If anyone gets that far then you probably have bigger problems then the Product Activation feature.

By the way less than 24 hours after the release of WinXP 2446 the Product Activation has been cracked.

This is insane. How is a restaraunt owner going to stop the jamming signal at the door and walls of his premises. The guy next door with a cell phone store may not be pleased. If I'm on my cell phone calling my stock broker and my cell phone cuts out before he hears my frantic order to SELL VA Linux can I sue the restaraunteur for my losses? If I'm running from a georgous blond woman that want's to rape me and my 911 call doesn't go through ...hmmm I might be able to live with that one. However, most women will be much more worried.

The only use for a jammer that I could justify is on stretches of the 400 series highways that are monitored by the COMPASS system. The RESCU cameras reduce the need for 911 calls and the reduction of idiots on the phone will save lives.
