  1. Caught you..... on Alicebot Creator Dr. Richard Wallace Expounds · · Score: 1

"Politicians, at least those in our society, never seem to give a straight answer to a question. If a journalist asks a specific question, the politician answers with a "sound bite" or short, memorized speech which is related to, but does not necessarily answer, the reporter's question. If asked about schools for example, the politician may reply with a memorized policy statement on education policy. It is as though the response was merely triggered by the keyword "school" in the question. No creative or spontaneous thinking is required. "

Though I did find many of the memorized policy statements interesting and insightful, they were clearly that. I have memories of doing the same once myself, but they may not be real.

Sure, send a letter to David Jessen, but let's not themestreamize slashdot as well. I agree with Blue Pulse on this one thing and that is that it's just a bad precedent.

Silly otaku. Urotsukidoji: Legend Of The Overfiend is one of the creative highlights of the 20th century. Certainly Disney has never produced anything of that caliber. Grave of the Fireflies is good too. I probably would not watch the two back to back.

  7. region free players are the norm on Princess Mononoke Delayed.. To Add Japanese! · · Score: 2

In Japan and in most of the world outside
    N. America. This was Buena Vista Japan's
worry that made them request BV America
not to include the original sound track.
Also given that DVDs usually cost a lot
more $$ in Japan means that these would
for sure have been reverse-imported back
    to Japan.

I hop they are just going to release the
"international" version in region 1 and 2
at the same time and just get over themselves,
but it is Disney so probably not.

The two sets that are available on dvd are fairly logical in and of themselves. For the really confusing stuff you still have to get fansubs. Utena is one of my favorites (though I can't disagree with Lain as #1). whether it all really makes sense at the end is a subject of intense debate.
