Given that the survival of pancreatic cancer is so low and that Jobs decided to do more hippy dippy holistic approaches doesn't bode well for his survival.
"Breathe deep, the gathering gloom" is actually quite prescient; all energy healing starts with deep breathing. Perhaps I will be modded down, but I know that this works for myself; I practice Jin Shin Jyutsu, and have studied others and know that all energy healing modalities are intimately linked to breathing deeply, to fight off the disease/gloom that gathers. (Also, you breathe deeply when you sleep, and sleep is a time of relaxing/refreshing/healing.)
I would prefer either, especially if the alternative was to be suddenly called into existence several miles above the surface of an alien planet, against all probability.
Uh, not all probability. Just likely ones. "I wonder if it will be my friend?"
Won't mining the moon screw up all life on Earth, if we mine enough? Remove enough mass from the moon and it'll escape Earth's orbit; but even before it does that, it will change the lunar cycle, possibly affecting tides as well as, perhaps, menstrual cycles. (Yes, I am likely thinking far into the future.)
I don't think you understood me. Legalize all drugs and prostitution. I never said "make crimes with victims not crimes" which is how your first paragraph appears to have understood me. I said to take the set of "crimes that have no victim" and remove them from our laws. But then, I just read your sig, and perhaps you're trolling.
Yeah, but now I do have something to hide; that being my body, from their invasive procedures which could result in infection or cancer due to the device. Have already lost a cat due to manufacturer incompetence via the tracking chip, so no, I do not want one in my sovereign body.
Man walks into a bar with a captain's wheel tied around his waist. Bartender says, "Hey you have a captain's wheel tied around your waist." Man says, "Yeah, it's driving me nuts!"
When I worked in restaurants at an early age, I was surprised that I needed to purchase a new pair of pants in order to start my job. With what money? Same applies here...
Yeah, I'd even let the company keep the $1500 machine I just bought, because it has already paid for itself in time I'm not spending waiting for the machine to respond, and at the same time losing what was in my short term memory.

Personal privacy can never be justified as a shield for illegal acts.
Did you just gut the 4th and 5th?
Polls basically just say that we all just selfish ego-centric bastards.
I think we should tax the people who run these types of surveys. Then, we could truly return to a system that everyone would enjoy: a poll tax!
For some, it's worth it.
Yeah, but: should I sell my Apple shares tomorrow? (Steve is taking medical leave of absence...)
One too many "ar"s, matey!

Wow that sounds a lot like a government/nepotism job I read about here a few months ago.

You know what would fix the issue permanently? Making victimless crimes, not crimes.
Yeah, I mean Sherlock Holmes, that rotten scoundrel.
If you are unwilling to assume responsibility for a device intended solely to kill human beings, you shouldn't have one.
Hunting.
I'm using Firefox because I prefer it over Chrome and such. I don't want the layout changed every major release.
Yeah, if I wanted that I'd just stick to Microsoft products.
Why it have to be always with animation? It's only distracting and annoying.
Agree completely. I rarely play Starcraft 2 for the same reason; the UI is full of annoying distractions.

This COULD have been fixed with a simple config option though. Why that wasn't made available is beyond me.
Ultimately I just downloaded Status-4-Evar. I think in the short-term this will become a favourite amongst geeks, while no-one else really notices.
Yeah, either that or Chrome will become the favorite. I like this browser's handling of the status bar.
Thanks for the memories. I loved Paranoia.
"More divorced from reality" is the religious.
Working from home fixes much of the envy issues.

Completely agree. We need network standards, not "Windows standards."
