    My Indigo2 does it quite nicely, but as Linux does not yet recognise all hardware on install (my ess onboard sound, darn it) it will be a hit or miss thing, untill hardware vendors conform to general standards not proprietary ones.

    What distro. and which dialer ie. xisp kppp ??? I find that if I use the Network Configuration in RH to set up the ppp in the "interfaces", making sure to check "restart ppp when connection fails", and using that, I get excellent results.

    Haveing a Gerber, I chuckle at the rest, not sturdy enough, or with too much frippery. A co worker has a SOG, it is the closest to the Gerber in utility, and sturdyness without going silly with useless crap.
