The truth is that anyone who says one is always better should be viewed with skepticism. They are either trying to sell you something, or one of those petty people who feel threatened when others decide on a different course.
You should also consider the human cost. It is always greater than those selling a solution will let on.
I would bet though that adding thermal mass to your room would beat out the containment system though.
